Dyson Ball DC24 Bagged Upright Vacuum

My wife uses the cleaner and looked at it with contempt when it first arrived thinking that it was too small to be of any use whatsoever and that we had made a great mistake buying it. What a difference when she plugged it in and started to use it, her face lit up and she had an enourmous smile. The Ball is very light and manouverable and cleans right up to the edges of the carpet. It has great power to lift all the dirt and rubbish of the carpets and other surfaces. At the touch of a button the rotating brush stops turning when it is used on non carpeted surfaces and with another quick touch it will rotate again. The only drawback on the cleaner is the small capacity of the dust container so it needs emptying a bit more often but even this procedure is very quick and efficient, the dust container is easily released and held over a bin and then you press a button and the hinged base opens releasing all the dirt into the bin (very neat and natty), another touch of the button and you can release the container completely to clean it further if you need to. When you have finished using the cleaner the telescopic handle can be retracted and it can be stored in avery small space.
Overall this is a very compact and efficient cleaner which has been well thought out and engineered by Dysons. Try and get a demo at your local store if you can and I think you will be absolutly amazed at how easy it is to use and how efficient it is.

I chose the Dyson ball DC24 because I have back problems and this was a new concept which was supposed to be easier to steer. Having tried the item, it is easier to wheel around the room to vacuum. Much easier to get into awkward places.

It was relatively simple to assemble, although the instructions were rather vague on the extension of the hose etc.

I have not used Dyson items previously, but would recommend this new concept.

i already had a dyson which are really good.the one i bought off ebay is a rollerball which is very light and much easier to carry upstairs since ive had it i havnt used my other one they are brilliant and i would reccomend them to anyone.once youve used a dyson you wont want any other vacuum.they glide round the room so easily.

I brought this dyson as I'm about to have a big operation, the hoover is tiny and very light but it hasn't got the same power as my bigger dyson, still I managed to grab a bargain but wouldn't pay the going price, it just wouldn't be worth it.

Very small, easy to store. Very easy to maneuver with. Defiantly worth the money. Plus handy guarantee witch comes with all dyson vacume's.

Dyson cleaners do everything they say on the box and more! But...
A bit heavy for those with restricted movement or reduced strength and stamina.
Then along came the DC24.
If all of the above apply to you then I recommend this cleaner. Its lightweight with no reduction in any of the qualities of the larger models. The ball movement makes it more maneuverable, the weight is very light and all of the tools and good thought put into the Dyson range is in this model as well. I just wish I'd bought one sooner!

Finally a Dyson that sucks without requiring steroids to lift it. Great little machine that is easy to assemble and very nifty around the furniture.

Having owned a Dyson for a number of years, we are absolutely made-up with this more compact model.

Wow a small piece of kit thats does what it says on the tin!! A fantastic item for ease of getting it around the house. Great for the elderly or infirm or people without much space as well as any other household! Bagless which is always a must have these days and can be used on a mixture of flooring so perfect for everyones needs! Very portable!

We live in France and unfortunately getting a Good vacuum cleaner at any price is a difficult task. Dyson Vacuum cleaners are not on sale here in the Loire area so after our old Dyson died we where only too pleased to buy another one and have it delivered to our door in Montourtier. We had bought a stand in cleaner, but on getting the Dyson we soon saw a difference in our carpets. We are very pleased with our supplier and the new 'Ball' machine. What we are NOT pleased with is the company DYSON, we registered our machine to our French address only to be told the Guarantee is not availbe in France because the machine was bought in the UK, what about the EU?
Thats a small risk since our last Dyson lasted well passed its sell by date.
So good luck to our supplier, thumbs down to Mr Dyson for missing his way in France.

The Dyson Ball is the BEST Hoover i have ever had,Ive had the DC 01 & DC 04 but this one is truly the best.Would recommend it 1st every time.Very light to push around, so light you don't even know its there.Gos any where with no effort.

The Dyson DC24 was every thing i wanted from a vac very light easy to empty the ball works well it turns easely the hose is great & very good for stairs etc

Easy to empty, easy to use. Light and versatile,does the edges well. Can go from hard to carpeted floors without having to change the head. Only real comment of criticism is the lack of tools with the vacuum. I think they should all come with a furniture brush,

After spending nearly an entire day researching all the different dyson cleaners, i settled on the dc24. My current dc04 was running out of puff and having had nearly 9 years service out of it, i thought it was time to get a new one. When my new dyson arrived, i was surprised at how small the box was and thought there is no way that this is all of it and checked with the delivery man that there wasn't another box with it!! He assured me that was it and was on his way. Once the dyson was out the box, it was very simple to put together and the instructions are very straightforward. I can't emphasise enough how small this dyson really is, my not yet 2 year old daughter is taller than it!! She thinks it's her new toy! Now to try it out, i have laminate wood floor downstairs and carpet on the stairs and upstairs. I started my test drive upstairs, i wizz round my 3 bedrooms with ease and realise it has taken me half the time to vacuum than with my previous dyson. Now for downstairs, even quicker on the laminate floor, was a little worried it wouldn't pick up as much as upstairs (You have to turn the brush off when doing hard floors) but am really surprised, it does a brilliant job. The stairs are also much easier, because this dyson is so light, i can carry the dyson in one hand and vacuum with the extendable hose in the other, and again it took less than half the time to complete the job. Once the whole house was done, the dust chamber was almost full, so i decided to try emptying it. This is a doddle also. Overall, i think this dyson is excellent. The only downside for me is that you only get one attachment, could do with another one for dusting shelves ect. This is available to buy seperately but seeing as my dc04 came with 3 extra attachments as standard, i feel it should have come with it. All in all, a very happy dyson customer.... again.

Over the years I have owned many vacuum cleaners and in my opinion, this is an amazing machine. It is very light compact, cleans well and great value. With a 5 years parts & labour guarantee it makes it a must have gadget.

Whilst it is not as powerfull as the DC25 it does a first class job of cleaning.
Being disabled,in a flat, this cleaner meets my requirements in being light in weight,has a telescopic handle making it easier to put away.It is remarkably easy to move arround in use and very effective in cleaning carpets with the power brush on and equally effective in the kichen and bathroom with the powerbrush off.
Be carefull when emptying the small dust container,make sure it is well inside the bin bag before pressing the emptying button! Dust can get everywhere!
cleaning the 2 filters is easy but the drying takes a day.
keep the instuctions in a safe place together with the receipt,register it with DYSON, there is a transferable 5year guarantee should you wish to sell it.
Being a colourfull design only display it if it fits your decore.

This dyson does what it says on the tin!
very lightweight, easy to manouvre, great power and suction for this baby dyson.The main reason for buying was what i have already said. If you want everything the dc05 does but in a more compact version, then this dc04 is perfect for the job.

The suction power on the Dyson seems to be better on these bagless machines with very easy emptying. Because the full size one was too tall and too heavy to lift and manoeuvre the little one seemed a good idea and it really is very small but still has the power and easily manages a large house. The attachments are all in one and instantly to hand making switching between floor and nozzle seamless. You just have to empty the cylinder more frequently but that means its cleaner with less blockages. Vacuuming behind and around furniture and in tighter spaces is much easier because you can lift the machine over obstacles into hard to reach places. The power lead is shorter and means you have to change sockets for each room. Stairs are tricky as it doesn't quite stretch far enough but you just have to do them in two halves, or carry it up with you or get someone else to hold it. The real bonus for me though is that it is child size and very child friendly and the children are very keen to give it a go, so its a fight as to who gets to vacuum that's got to be worth 5 stars!

I have a bad back so looked around for a lightweight hoover. This does fit the bill and is very neat. Love the ball things once you get the hang of how to steer it!!!
As other people have said, you do have to empty it often, but that is to be expected with it's size.
Little surface bits, it picks up a treat and at edges - HOWEVER , if you have a CAT or DOG, AVOID this hoover. I have spent most of my time on my hands and knees 'rubbing' up the pet hairs from the carpet as the Dyson won't touch it at all and the carpet looks awful - for this reason I am now on the hunt again for aother hoover suitable to pick pet hairs up.

I bought this Dyson because we moved into a new flat and needed something that would fit into a small storage space and still do a good job. This Dyson does just that. Similar to what has been said in previous reviews, it is small, lightweight, easy to manoeuvre and a doddle to empty. The only downside is you only get one attachment - a brush head - which is fine if that is all you need. I am sure you could buy other attachments to use with it if necessary. Personally, it has everything I need so I am very happy with it.
