FANTASTIC COVERS PERFORMED TO PERFECTION

This album is amazing.
We all know that the gorgeous Mr.Yoakam is the most sensational performer of his era . His own compositions and performances, combined with a voice that can be both sad and soulful one moment and then wild and full of gritty rock the next leaves this man miles ahead of his opposition.
This album is exactly what the title suggests .......covers of massive hits performed in the Yoakam style.
Wichita Lineman is fabulous. And the Van Morrison hit from around 1963 "Here Comes The Night" is absolutely astounding.
"Baby,Don't Go" ,a duet with Sheryl Crow, is well-executed by both performers.
But the one thing that has to stand out way above the rest is the incredible musical diversion performed by Dwight as he covers THE KINKS number "Tired Of Waiting". The "swing" style was totally unexpected and only proves the versatility of the vocalist. I can't imagine any other singer in the genre of country music being capable of performing in this fashion so convincingly.
This album shows the immense talent that is Dwight Yoakam.
Not only can he tear out our hearts with his deep meaningful lyrics and soulful voice.....or leave us rocking with numbers such as "Wild Ride" or "Fast As You", but he can also leave us breathless when it comes to his ability of taking well-know hits and "making them his own"
This album is a must for all music fans and for those wishing to probe deeper into the raw talent that is Dwight Yoakam
