This album kinda misses the point a bit. This is a hip pop album made to fly off the shelves bought by kids who dont know what or who Biggie was. Don't get me wrong it's okay, but thats only because of Biggies vocals. The production is tight though but more befitting to an N-Sync album. Nice to hear some new biggie material just dont expect it to sound anything like Ready to Die. Pleases though Puffy, Diddy, whatever..... don't go dancing up in the videos and stay behind the mixing desk!

  Notorious B.I.G. - The Duets

This is the album that I was most looking forward to in 2006. It has a huge array of guest appearances.

'Spit your game' produced by Swizz Beatz is brilliant. It features Twista and Bone Thugs N Harmony. The beat is heavy and Twistas rap is unbelivebly fast.

My favourite tune is '1970 something' which features The Game and Faith Evans. The chorus is really catchy and the Game verse is perfect for the song.

However, a lot of people will just focus on the guest appearences. In every song, Biggie shows his stuff and reminds us of his quality lyrics. Every rap chosen, suits the beat perfectly.

I think this is a great album, well worth buying. A lot better than Born Again .

Get out there, buy it, and listen to the legend in a brand new way!

  Biggie Duets..
Review created: 06/07/09

Should be noted that you have most likely heard these Biggie verses before- most if not all his bars are taken from existing tracks i dont know how many (if any) of his verses are unheard. Also, if biggie was around today i dont think he would be making music and collaberating with some of the artists you find on this CD (Korn for example). This isnt exactly a B.I.G. album- its more like a Hip Hop mix that features Biggie on every track alongside other artists.. hence the title "Duets"

Once you look past all this, you have alot of good music on the disc. Standouts have to be Spit Your Game, Get Your Grind On, Living In Pain, Beef and a few more besides. That said, there are a few tracks and collabs that do kind of make you scratch your head & wonder, why? I like to pretend track 21 isnt there, lol.

  big names, small return

I heard the track Nasty Girl about 3 times each day for a month. No matter how many times I heard it, it still sounded as good as the first!

I've never been a big fan of Biggie (or Tupac for that matter), but having been swayed by Nasty Girl, I took the plunge and bought the album.

It has some really big names, in terms of performers and producers. It's mainly a mix of the bad and the ok, with two or three stand out tracks.

If you like Biggie, you're bound to love this, as it's him at his best. If you're less of a fan, it won't sound as good as it should.
