Duel (DVD 2005)

great film, classic....you never see the driver.
Dennis Weaver plays the part of the fustrated driver who,s nervousness increases over time to virtually bordering on hysteria.
Moral of the story for me is: If another road user passes you safely & considerately.....please dont take it personally.

Classic thriller film.

The tension builds to a fever pitch.

Especially like the scene in the diner, when Weaver looks around at all the faces, wondering which one is the pursuing truck driver!!

If you haven't yet seen it, make sure you do soon.

Duel is one of my top films. Dennis Weaver plays the part of a car driver travelling through the countryside to get to a meeting. He meets up with a big dirty old thundering truck with a crazy driver who will not leave him alone. This movie works so well as it has been perfectly directed and Dennis Weaver is amazing as the scared driver fighting for his life. As you never actually see the trucker, it makes the film more suspensful. The cafe scene is brilliant and you can feel the tension and fear . The film keeps you hooked all the way through and wonder what an earth the mad trucker looks like and is doing. Well worth the hour and 10 minute ride. One hell of a ride at that.

Saw the film many years ago, remembered it was good. My girlfriend had not seen it so I bought it and we watched it together. She and I really enjoyed it and the special features include a very interesting interview with Stephen Spielberg.

THOUGHT IT WOULD HAVE DATED......BUT I REALLY ENJOYED IT, JUST WISH THEY WOULD PRODUCE A MODERN DAY REMAKE........!

Looking back as a young boy, i remember an actor on TV named Dennis Weaver, you may know him as "Mc Cloud"
I remember his excellent acting and this film.

I am a big Road kill fan however, not many films now days can say they are NOT as good as the original.

I have to say that Duel tops Roadkill for suspense and Dennis Weavers' acting is so beliveable that you actually feel it with him...that's skill acting and rare in this day and age.

Dennis Weaver plays a rep on his way to an important appointment in his famous red plymouth.
Whilst driving along the motorway minding his own business, he is followed by a big rig tanker driver with a truck the size of America.

Then ensues this cat and mouse game of Duel until Weaver is terrorised and his life endangered by the original "Rusty Nail" truck driver.
Weaver fights for his life and plays a trick on the truck driver in the end that pays off.

I can't tell you anymore as i'll spoil it for you BUT, once again i have the special edition of this classic Steven King movie that's as good today as it was back in it's own time.

Well worth your time and money.

which can keep up with Dennis Weavers 1970 Plymouth Valient. Fantastic acting while Spielberg's psychological tension in the film is something we just don't see done like that on today's films. The lengths you see THE DRIVER? go to is shocking! But very EXCITING...

THIS A TRUE CLASSIC THAT EVERYONE SHOULD HAVE IN THEIR COLLECTION.THE FILM THAT GOT SPEILBERGS FILM CAREER UP AND RUNNING IS A BRILLIANT MASTERPIECE.DENNIS WEAVER PLAYS A GUY IN A RED CAR WHO JUSTS HAPPENS TO OVERTAKE A DIRTY OLD MENACING FUEL TANKER THAT WAS HOLDING HIM UP.AFTER THAT HIS LIFE IS TURNED AROUND COMPLETLY AS HE IS SINGLED OUT BY A CRAZY TRUCK DRIVER WHO IS ONLY INTERESTED IN DESTROYING HIM ALTOGETHER.THIS FILM HAS YOU GRIPPED SO MUCH YOU WONT WANT TO GET UP FOR ANYTHING.FEAR IS THE DRIVING FORCE.A MUST SEE FILM .10/10.

A good movie. I generally like all spielberg films and when I saw this, I was not disappointed. It has suspense and fear.
I would watch this again.

Saw it when I was on Holiday in Australia so thought I would snap it up here. Not got round to watching it yet

its a very rare dvd people are starting to collect them now i bought this for a friend and he is quite happy with it.

A great movie of its time with the basis of a cat and mouse chase between a small car and a thundering great lorry,simple story displayed at its very best,shot over only 12 days this film has gained cult status due to great directing by Steven Spielberg.

fantastic movie. well made and guessing who the lorry driver was. even when he went to the cafe .he saw the lorry parked there and knew the lorry driver by the boots he was wearing.

Excellent movie, suspence, and mystery. Speilbergs first movie. Nail biting from start to finish. would highly recommend to any one

A wonderful all action suspense film which keeps you guessing right up to the end. I first saw this movie back in the mid-70's - first movie outing by Stephen Speilburg, and it was still fresh today 30 years later - superb!

A brilliant,tense,'it could happen to you' type of film.Spielberg's first feature length. The ultimate in 'Road Rage'.
I have seen it many times and it's a film you will watch again and again.

hi ebay i bought the fill DUEL becuase it was a late 70 s classic and when i watched it years ago and loved it as a friller so was THE CAR that was a late 70s classic and when i went on ebay i looked it up and there it was aand i just had to have it well both off them CHEERS
