Album Notes
Drain S.T.H.: Maria Sjoholm (vocals); Flavia Canel (guitar); Anna Kjellberg (bass); Martina Axen (drums, background vocals).Additional personnel: Niso Elgstrand (acoustic guitar); Sebastian Oberg (cello); Orjan Ornkloo (samples).Contains 3 previously unreleased tracks.Drain S.T.H. could very well be today's "Queens of Heavy Metal." They provide plenty of grrrl power on a debut record that certainly doesn't lack in the crunch department. The opening track, "I Don't Mind," has a Nine Inch Nails flavor and is both catchy and heavy. The rest of the album follows in the Alice In Chains vein. It is heavy, but also current. It is an album of trudging, mid-tempo rockers, heavy on the bass, with acoustic intros thrown in for good measure. In an era of female songwriters singing about getting coffee down the street, it's refreshing to see a band that delivers high energy rock 'n' roll with a punch. All in all, "Horror Wrestling" is an impressive debut from a band with a bright future.
