Immediately, Dracula tries to distinguish itself by flip-flopping the roles of hero and villain. Instead of a local yokel sent to destroy the titular vampire, you play Drac's daughter, Eve. Eve's been tasked with reassembling her father's body so he may rise again.

Naturally, playing as a vampire is infinitely cooler than being the good guy. Eidos realized this with Legacy of Kain and Majesco got in on the sexy vampire act with Bloodrayne. Eve is a compelling character, in her own right -- even if the visuals blah-ness prevents you from developing any sort of relationship with her. It's just cool that you're a vampire chick going around, busting jugulars while sealing humanity's doom.

You've been turned loose in a castle -- a big one. Like any classic platformer, you must run from left to right, jumping over gaps. There are plenty of enemies in the towering castle, too. Amateur Van Helsing's are everywhere, throwing stakes at you. Now, if you find a cache of stakes, you can return fire.

But a real vampire doesn't puncture the living with sharpened wood -- she does it with her teeth. When you are low on health, approach a human and press the "5" key to lunch on the main vein. (Not that main vein, perv.)

You can also turn into a bat (a power granted by special tokens) and fly around the castle for a limited time -- particularly helpful for crossing large chasms.

Now, Dracula's control kinda leaves something to be desired. Sure the running around is handled fine, but the jumping, well, sucks. It is abnormally float-y, even for a weightless vampire lady. You can use the hover time to cross gaps, but the catch is, the transition from up to over is too iffy.

Visually, Dracula isn't as sexy as Mforma wants its anti-heroine to be. The brick wall castle is so "same-y" everywhere you look. The character sprites are decent-sized, though -- which certainly helps. The bloodsucking animations are cool, too.

Closing Comments
Dracula is a solid, competent platformer for your handset, and Mforma deserves applause (and downloads) for at least trying to do something a little extra than just pumping out a me-too action game. The vampires angle, coupled with the ability to turn into a bat and suck blood, makes for a compelling game. It's no Castlevania, but then again, your phone is no GBA.

This is a terrible film, it must rank as one of the worst i have ever seen. Everything about is bad from the way it is edited to the over usage of sound to highlight scenes. Also there is over use of a certain Media brand shown often during the film. Not recommended for anyone who likes Dracula films or films of this type.

Nice twist to the dracula story. A good selection of stars, almost all recognisable. I seem to remember more nookie but that was probably my memory. Worth buying but i wouldn´t pay more than a fiver for it.

Dracula 2001 (AKA Dracula 2000) review

Enjoyable vamp film, the usual dracula story with some nice additions - I esp liked: the reason for vampires not liking silver and the background on how dracula came about. Dodgy effects from time to time let this film down. Its not the best vamp flick ever, but certainly isn't the worse either. Worth a watch.

Dracula 2001, drac for an MTV generation

I personally love this film and not just because dracula is played by the gorgeous Gerard Butler who incidently is one of the best things about this film. He is sexy dark and brooding everything dracula is supposed to be. His acting is fantastic and he looks like he is really enjoying his craft, like Christopher Plummer who plays Matthew Van Helsing, who is the second best thing about this movie, he looks like he is having a blast and the two leads seem to have a good working chemistry. The plot of the film is that Van Helsing has caught and kept Dracula in a silver coffin for a hundred years, Helsing has been alive this long by using the blood of Dracula. Theives steal Dracs coffin and he is released and goes to find Mary (Justine Waddell) the daughter of Helsing who thanks to her father has the essence of Dracula in her blood. Dracula intends to make her his bride because she is "born pure" like himself not made by being bitten. Simon (Jonny Lee Miller) who works for Helsing is on hand to try and protect Mary, but to be honest faced with Simon or Dracula i would chose the dark side anytime. I dont think it would be to everyones taste but the bloke in one shop i talked to said they are always selling out of this film because it's a cult classic and i am willing to agree with him.
ps. There is also a twist to draculas origins in this film, what made him who he was, it explains all his dislikes eg: sunlight, crosses and silver.

  Dracula 2001 fresh and funky

I loved the movie, i love horror movies but this is one of my favourites. The director has hit the spot with a cheesy Dracula movie, parts of the moive can get pretty boring but other parts are brilliant and action packed. I recommend watching the great extras first to get into the mood for the film, there are some great actors in the movie and the actor whom plays Dracula does an amazing job.The film is fresh and funky with sharp ideas and i love the twist near the end of the film is amazing.
