Stunning drama, set in a Bronx Catholic school, with two of the greatest movie performances of recent years. When a progressive priest joins the staff in the early Sixties he falls foul of the rigid, traditionalist nun who is the head teacher. And when Sister Aloysius (Meryl Streep) suspects that Fr Flynn (Philip Seymour Hoffman) is taking an excessive interest in one of the boy pupils she determines to find out the truth - whatever the consequences.
