I bought this as christmas present for my Partner and we both really have enjoyed listening to it over the hoildays.
It seems that Dolores has kept her unique style of singing from her past work where she was in the band 'The Cranberries'.
It has a rocky feel to the album but also some mellow tracks. I would really reconmend this if you like The Cranberries. On a whole, Brilliant Album!

) As a big cranberries fan anyway, this was a surprise in some ways. So many artists think they can do the band thing as a solo artist. This has grown on me so much, similar in some ways to thae band stuff, however a bit softer, still the hallmark spark in there. Highly recommened.

) Great solo album by Dolores,espescially the first four tracks. A bit rougher than Cranberries in some parts, but you can still hear the roots from the band i most of the songs. Good lyricks, voice and variety. Goes a bit doll at the end, but still a strong album.

Don't expect the Cranberries sound but.........

After a four year absence, I wasn't really expecting much from Dolores O'Riordan. I wasn't confident that her debut solo album would be able to conjure up the same magic which Cranberries albums such as No Need to Argue and Everyone Else Is Doing it easily did. But this is Dolores we're talking about, and with Are You Listening, O'Riordan has definitely dispelled my doubt. A rather solid album chock full of excellent song writing, catchy alt rock songs, and softer ballad-esque tracks, overall Are You Listening is a fairly worthwhile album. I would definitely recommend it to fans of Dolores' past works, as it picks up right where she left off four years ago. Solid effort all around.
