Album Notes
Dokken: Don Dokken (vocals); Jeff Pilson (vocals, acoustic guitar, piano, Mellotron, keyboards, bass); Mick Brown (vocals, drums, perussion); Reb Beach (guitar).Principally recorded at 710 Studios, Redondo, California.Even though Dokken reunited in the '90s, old habits refused to die for singer Don Dokken and guitarist George Lynch, who still could not see eye to eye. Wishing to pursue a heavier musical direction, and feeling restricted by his old bandmates, Lynch once again left Dokken shortly after 1997's SHADOW LIFE. Instead of going on hiatus again as they once did in the late '80s, Dokken decided to soldier on, with ex-Winger guitarist Reb Beach taking Lynch's vacated spot. On the first Dokken album with Beach, 2000's ERASE THE SLATE, the music remains more straight ahead than their glossy '80s releases, but incorporates more melody into the mix than their later '90s efforts--check out the title track and "The Maddest Hatter" for the proof.
