Dire Straits - Private Investigations (The Best Of Dire Straits And Mark Knopfler) (CD 2005)

This album has all the best and popular Dire Striaits tracks and even some new ones by Mark knpfler on his own.
All my collection is on vinyl and I was keen to own some of the stuff on CD but not all.
This was an ideal way to achieve this and for a reasonable price too.
As an added bonus not only is the theme to Local Hero included bit also a new track featuring Emmylou Harris.
Awesome!
As you can gather there are no downsides at all!

I've got all their albums on vinyl and it's sometimes easier, and way cheaper, to buy a "best of" to get to listen to those great tracks again while scouting around to get the others at a reasonable price. It also includes "Why Aye Man" with some of the Geordie lads from "Auf Weidersehen Pet" which I love! I'm Scottish but lived in the north east for years and am maried to a north east lass, so the connections run deep. Recommended album, especially if you don't have any Dire Straits at all - it'll get you into them.

Fantastic songs, fantastic production! What more do you need to know! If you want to hear Dire Straits like you've never heard them before, this is the CD for you!

I bought this album for my dad as a birthday present as he is a long-time fan of Dire Straits and also really enjoys Mark Knopfler's new material, so this album combines the best of both. He didn't know that the album had been brought out but really loved it, and liked that it included some of Knopfler's more obscure tracks that he hadn't heard before. All in all, I would recommend this cd to anyone who is a fan of Dire Straits or Mark Knopfler himself.
