Devil's Advocate (DVD 1999)

Brilliant, gripping Satanic thriller with Al Pacino as a lawyer who may not be what he seems and Keanu Reeves as a young legal eagle whose life is turned inside out and upside down. Also stars the fabulous Charlize Theron, giving another of her top-drawer performances as Keanu's wife.

Difficult film to review without revealing too much of the plot but look at the cast - Al Pacino, Keanu Reeves and Charlize Theron. This is a moral tale, handled without the slightest hint of preaching, that everyone should be able to relate to. Some gory moments but quickly over. Al Pacino, in particular, obviously relishes his part and is totally credible. A movie to make you think.

I bought the DVD as l think it is a great film. l have seen it a few times but never get fed up with it. To me, it's the best.

The mix of actors was superb the story was different and thought provoking and very clever with an excellent twist quite long and definately not suitable for children

This is a film starring Al Pacino and Keanu Reeves along with Charlene Theron in one of her early roles. It is hard to classify this film, described as a 'modern gothic horror' whatever that means. However, it is a powerful story full of surprises which never flags and delivers a superb ending, to my mind a classic film. Keanu Reeves' performance is wooden at times but this doesnt spoil the enjoyment as Al Pacino delivers more than enough to compensate, he deserved an Oscar for his portrayal of the lead charactor - who this is I cant say without spoiling the plot.

I bought this film to keep, it being one of my most favourite films of all time and as such bears watching again and again.

This is a classic movie, timeless and still gripping no matter how often it is watched, stellar performances from an all star cast, a novel story line, great locations and plenty of room for an addition.....Devils Advocate 2?..... well maybe, but as we all know, sometimes a sequel can screw a reputation up for a film. Charlize Theron plays her role wonderfully, portraying a myriad of emotions and perhaps this launched her career for her big time, keanu reeves, well he was his normal slick self, couldn't really expect much different from the man but still a stellar performance none the less and Al Pacino....well what can i say?, what needs to be said?--- the mans a hollywood God!! all in all a great film, highly recommended nad if you haven't seen it yet.....WHY???

Great film, supernatural element, Keanu is great, recommend for any one but particularly those that are into the heaven and hell good v evil type of film SUPERB

Acting. Superb. Script. Unique. Idea. Original. Special Features is a good plus. I decided to buy it because the way it portraits conflict between good and evil is highly- poetic. Mixture of cultures in New York is awesome. Highly recommended for those who are seriously thinking about starting a law career without going against their own moral, consciousness and religious values. Better what during the day. At nighttime is kind of creepy horror.

This movie is a must see i really enjoyed it i rate this movie 10/10 keanu reeves is so hot in this movie defo one for guys & girls

I'd seen this film before and enjoyed it enough to warrant purchasing it for myself.

It's a gripping story line with Reeves battling his career goals and morals after being head hunted for a top New York law firm. Reeves dilema isn't helped by the deeply engrossing charachter Al Pacino portrays who steers him towards a darker path.

It's a very watchable movie and there's some good chemistry between the leads.

Watched this when i was younger and it is one of those films you never forget and it came up in a conversation with my girlfriend when i decided to buy it and show her it. She liked it aswell. It is an awesome film and at first it appears to be a normal film about a lawyer but then it all starts kicking off and the film has some nice ideas and views about the modern life and the sin of vanity. Very good film watch it!

A Twist in the tail not found out until the very end !

This is such a great movie, for anyone that has not seen it but are thinking of buying it, i can highly recommend it. Truly great film, great cast, just awesome.
