The Devil Wears Prada (DVD)

I bought this having read the book and I was interested to see how they brought it to life.

Inevitably, the film has less complexity than the book, but it was true to the spirit of the original on the whole.

It's a fun, lighthearted film - just right for when you want undemanding entertainment. The performances are excellent and the characterisation spot on.

So perhaps not a 'must see', but none the less I'd happily recommend it for a lazy Saturday night with a bottle of wine!

Saw the film in the cinema wanted one for home viewing as enjoyed it so much. even my husband enjoyed seeing it althouh he is a war film follower. the seller was very quick and reliable.

Still cant work it out really. The lead character goes off and shags someone else and yet we're still 'sposed to 'feel' for her?
Coupled with the fact that she looks a whole sexier and classy when she dresses in designer wear and finally gets some sort of work ethic we are still expected to prefer the 'old' character.
Great dialog and wonderful performances this film still leaves a mark even if the message it tries to portray gets a little lost along the way.
Park your brain, don't think about it and prepare yourself for what is a clever, enjoyable, if slightly misplaced look at the so called developed world today.

For some reason I missed this film when it was on the big screen, but I wanted to see it as all the newspaper reviews that I had read had been positive. And I was able to buy it cheaply on ebay! I wasn't sure what to expect. but with Meryl Streep starring in it I knew that it had to be good. Basically it is a classy, well-acted chick flick, well worth watching - but not mind-blowing. The acting by the two leading ladies is excellent and they are both ably supported by Stanley Tucci and Emily Blunt. If you want a night in, this light,funny film should be just what you're after!

Great film starring Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway.
When Andy first got the job she was a pushover and I don't think she relised the type of job that she had got herself into. She has near to no fashion sense even though she had landed herself a job in the fashion industry.
But.......that all changed when the person she works alongside with was ill so she couldn't go on the trip with Miranda,so that meant Andy going.That is when the new Andy came out and Miranda saw how good she really was,but it took it's toll on Andy who had enough and quit.
a very good movie that I would rate highly.

This is a feel good romantic comedy based on a book. Good story line but still the traditional boy meets girl, boy loses type thing. Love the fashion and makeup in this movie and wouldn't mind having the soundtrack. Great for a girly night in.
Anne Hathaway plays a very good role from supposed ugly duckling to swan and sort of back again. Meryl Streep plays an excellent bitch you almost want to slap her. Anyway don't want to give too much of the story line away but this one is definately worth a watch.

ITS A TOTAL CHICK FLICK BUT I LOVE THIS MOVIE!! MERYL STREEP SHOWS US WHY SHE BECAME SUCH A STAR, PLAYING EVIL EDITOR, MIRANDA. REALLY FUNNY, IRONIC AND, AT TIMES SAD. DEFINATELY ONE THAT ALL THE GIRLS SHOULD WATCH BUT BOYS MAY FIND IT TEDIOUS!

Excellent rags to riches story set inside the Runway Fashion Magazine. The Devil is the Editor (played by Meryl Streep) and the PA (Watch out for the Blue Jumper), Andy.
Serves as a reminder to all the career obsessed individuals in our society. Dont forget your friends or family.
Well worth a watch

I Love it i must say. It's the life most of us want to live but somehow not able to. It's fun to live in it as you watch the the movie. Love Meryl Streep to bits, all that jacket swinging and dumping on her assistants, classic exec. The fashion is cool too. All that backstabbing isn't nice, but that's how the real world operates, you get to find out the hard way. All in all, i'll say i give it a 7 out of 10. I have watched it many times since i bought it. If you're thinking about buying this film, go for it. It's worth the money. Great for lazy evenings in.

Very well cast and very well executed. A touch predictable but still a good film. Not just for women because of the movie theme (fashion). Well worth a watch.

I bought this dvd for my 12 year old daughter because she had been watching and enjoying 'Ugly Betty' and having watched the film myself i knew she would enjoy it to. Its not a great epic but its a good saturday afternoon chic-flick movie with an inevitable happy ending. the cast is good and Glen Close acts well, i would recommend it as a dvd to buy.

Love love love it all!! Saw it at the cinema and knew it was one of those films I'll watch again and again!

Bought for my wife who had just read the book (which she enjoyed)and wanted to see how the film compared. We both found the film to be most enjoyable with excellent performances from the cast. My wife thought the book had the edge over the film due to more depth to the story which left more to the imagination.

i love this film it is brillient saw this about 2 months ago and i loved it and had to buy the dvd.
at first i thought this would be a really bad chick flick as i don't like chick flicks but when i saw this i was glad i did.
all actors are brillient especially meral streep i like her mean side (that's all) lol.
i could watch this film again and again.
as i am a fashion student i found it very useful for inspiration and based a garment on the film.
this film makes me want to go back to new york and go shopping and cause a comosion lol.
this film has fashion, great music, sex appeal, new york and good humour.
so you love fashion or just a great film buy this you won't regret it.

This was a great item as described brand new still sealed. It was an excellent price, FREE p&p plus delivery was super fast.

When it was advertised on TV it appeared to be a fantastic film, however, I found it very middle of the road, the DVD itself was also quite dark and the sound was poor.

THIS IS A TOTALLY BRILLANT MOVIE IT COVERS THE HIGHS AND LOWS OF THE FASHION WORLD AND SHOWS MERYL STREEP AT HER BEST BEST AS HARD HEARTED MIRANDA PRRIESTLY WHO ALSO SHOWS THAT SHE IS HUMAN BY THE END OF THE MOVIE BY SHOWING HER SOFTER SIDE.IT HAS GREAT UPBEAT MUSIC THAT BRINGS GREAT LIFE TO THIS MOVIE IT IS A TOTALLY AWESOME MOVIE WITH GREAT CASTING....ITS A MUST SEE THAT YOU WOULD WANT TO WATCH OVER AND OVER AGAIN.

To my surprise the DVD arrived the following morning, well packed and in excellent condition. Good communication, altogether an extremely professional transaction. I highly recommend this seller to any prospective buyer.

Based on the editor of Vanity Fair, Meryl is great. Easy girly film to watch. Amusing film with good music tracks.

this is a great film for girlies who just love the fashion world. This is my daughters fave film of all time. If you have time read the book as well cos both are great.

'The Devil Wears Prada' is a great girly film! I decided to buy it as it was premiered on tv a couple of weeks ago and i only saw the end of it and had to buy it as it looked so good. Definatly a film i'l watch over and over again.

I love this film, not only is it brilliant to watch for all the designers (plenty of eBay inspiration) it's styled by Carrie Fields from SATC and has the same director.
Meryl Streep is fantastic as Miranda, the strangely seductive boss from hell of the title.
What I enjoy is this films really respects fashion and design, while gently making fun of some of the more obsessive sides of the business.
Highlights of the film: Andie's makeover wardrobe, the "cube of cheese" diet plan and the monologue on cerulean blue.
Down sides - the need to spend lots of money on eBay on Jimmy Choo, Manalo Blahnik, Prada etc etc.
If you've had a bad day at work, grab a glass of wine a load of girlfriends and realise how much worse it could have been!
