Derek And Clive Get The Horn (DVD 2000)

Back in the late 60's and early 70's, Cook and Moore had established themselves as one of Britain’s best loved comedy duos. This DVD is a live recording of the pair as their alter-ego's 'Derek and Clive' and contains material that they themselves considered inappropriate for the majority of their mainstream audience.
The recording took place at the Town House Studios in Shepherds Bush and was made at a time when the relationship between the two comics was really on its last legs, not that it makes this film any less amusing.
With profanities and outright vulgarity throughout, this DVD is not for the faint hearted but it does contain some of the most memorable ad-libs of the comics’ careers to date.
This live recording was directed by Russ Mulcahy (of 'Highlander' fame) and is a wonderful anarchic shambles of long alcohol fuelled, abuse filled conversations, monologues and the occasional song accompanied by Moores fantastic piano playing.
Running time for the feature is an hour and 29 minutes and it's an hour and a half you won’t soon forget.
Any fans of Cook and Moore should own this DVD and those unfamiliar with their work should purchase it just to marvel at the genius of 2 of the funniest men ever to grace the earth - inebriated, uncensored and together for one of the last times.

Possibly the most politically incorrect,childish,filthy,foul mouthed and brilliant piece of comedy ever to be put on film.Hilarious from start to finish,two of comedys greats at the top of their game.Peter Cook and Dudley Moore never better than in this foul mouthed rant at the world,if youv'e never heard them as derek and clive then this is a good starting place before Dud went all Hollywood on us and pete turned into a parody of himself.Do yourself a favour if you get the chance take a look at this and see what good old british filth should be.

classic comedy. if you've never seen derek and clive and like comedy you'll love this. cooke is a legend and you'll see a side of cuddly dudley you never thought existed.

I'm sorry I bought this, I had not seen this before but I'd enjoyed other, earlier sketches from this pair, Dudley Moore & Peter Cook, but that must be a few years back and they are bored with more of the same (as I was) needing to move on!
In this unprepared (pay your bills) sketch, they are a waste of time watching - DON'T!

you cant be the classics like this two its the sort of dvd you want to buy and keep for ever and watch in years to come

I decided to buy this DVD because I'd seen it briefly in the early 80's. It was my brother who'd hired it on video and i was too young to see it but had sneaked a look! I thought it was hilarious(probably because of all the swearing!..i was young!)Anyway watching it again this time and after becoming aware over the years of their other work, this dvd is classic Derek and Clive. Don't buy it if bad language and graphic explanations offend you, this is packed with both. However, if you are a genuine admirer of the genius talent of these two individuals you will appreciate it for what it is. And what it is... is two guys stoned going off on a tangent of hilarious fantasy and innane ranting! Enjoy!
