The price was the reason i bought it 99p bargain of the century.Having converted most of my old video collection to DVD I was thrilled to find this film gem in digital format. If you watch this in widescreen format, it really does the battle scene great justice; coupled with surround sound, you'll be gripped by the amazing cinematography. I would recommend the director's cut that includes scenes about the relationship between the lead character and his estranged wife and helps you to understand the motivation behind his decision. The run time is 183 minutes for the directors cut and 120 minutes for the cinema version. I was, however, disappointed by the lack of extras, which any fan of this classic would expect to be included. There's only a 20-minute interview with the director and other shot "making-of" vignettes.
I wanted an inexpensive tuner to complete a "second" system in the house. Digital radio is all "the rage" at the moment although some audiophiles write rude things about the sound quality. There are, probably mistakenly, rumours about FM radio having a limited life. These are the ingredients of a bargain on eBay! Reviews of this discontinued FM tuner are uniformly excellent and so I started to "case the market" when there seemed to be a lot on offer. I won one at about the third attempt but was a little carried away bidding at the end and spent about £10.00 more than I intended (£32.50 + £12.00 p&p). Never mind, the seller was very straightforward and I have been sufficiently impressed with the tuner in all respects such that I have replaced the tuner in the "first" system with this one and bought another - a TU-260L for a truly bargain price (99p + £15.00 p&p). Anyone want to buy an FM tuner complete with hiss and whistle?
Very reasonable price .excellent quality.Quick delivery. Used this supplier before and was impressed. only thing I could wish for is a remote but this tuner does not have this feature
This is actually not the Mark II and wasn't described as such by the seller. It is however a very high quality analogue radio tuner which performed and performs way beyond its price (I think about £180 approx 10 years ago - a bargain then and now). I have rated it "Good" in absolute terms and should mention that my own tuner is by Magnum Dynalab, cost many times £180 and is generally reckoned to be one of the best tuner brands in the world. This little Denon is for my daughter and I am sure she will like it very much. One of its advantages is its sensitivity which means that the proverbial piece of wet string will be adequate to achieve a decent performance, so my daughter doesn't have the immediate expense of a rooftop aeriel. What more can I say? If you see a Denon TU 260 in any of its generations, don't hesitate.
The later tuner (Mark 2) has RDS and Radio Text (RT).
I bought this one in error. It performs very well but I wanted RT. I bought the Mark 2 version shortly afterwards. It's identical apart from the RT facility.
If you aren't bothered about Radio Text then by all means buy this.
Denon tuners have high capture and lock capabilities and high sensitivity and front-end stability, and this tuner is no exception.
I already had the Denon anp and CD player given to me as they were too large and used in my work room. The quality of sound and build were outstanding so I wanted a tuner to complete the ensemble. The tuner of choice was of course the 260 L which I bought off E bay a short while ago. The condition was stated as imaculate and it certainly was. This tuner is truly outstanding and leaves DAB way behind. A superb buy for very little money and I would highly recomend it.
I had a mark one tuner and to be honest had a few problems with it including interference and found using and indoor aerial hard work. I was recommended to upgrade to the mark two version and have found it brilliant. Great sound, great styling, and works in perfect harmony with my other denon and arcam seperates. Would recommend to anyone!
this is another great denon product although its a bit out of date it has easy touch controls with great sound it works perfect with a indoor am/fm aerial and plenty pre,set stations,no remote control, requires amp connection.
