Bought this for my 9 year old, as he is learning the electric guitar. I had forgot how good they were and now my 5 year old begs me to play it when in the car!! Timeless.

execelent album!
The best of one of the most influencial rock bands of all time. if you are a fan of led zep or hendrix they are well worth a look.
some of the tracks are remastered which are slightly different from the original (e.g. hush). also if you are more of a fan of the modern deep purple work (stever morse era), then you will only find the last two tracks of interest. The rest is the classic blackmore sound of the old school deep purple.
If you don't know the difference between the two then........ritchie blackmore and steve morse are both fantastic guitarists that can do a lot more than just rock music. but blackmore uses more blues style solos with a lot of tremolo use, where as morse has more of a fusion style (shown off with the stever morse band) and uses a lot of arpeggios.
Overall a must have for the classic rock fan!

great album for all deep purple fans. its got great hits such as hush, highway star and smoke on the water. hush is a great song to sing along to. smoke on the water is the iconic sound of deep purple for me and i'm sure it is for many others aswell. highway start and black night have great guitar sounds.

The Best Songs, But Not The Best Versionswe all love deep purple, and the songs they've selected for this 30th anniversary are all fab, but not the editions they used. child in time is the single edit, not the epic 10min album version, and they claim to have edited smoke on the water for a remix or something to make it seem better, but the version is just 3 seconds longer than the album. although alot of the versions they've used are brilliant, it seems like a waste of time, although the world really doesnt need another purple best of, there are some better best ofs out there, and maybe just get the platinum best of for like 5.99 with 3 discs.
