Death Sentence (DVD)

FIRST THING IS FIRST..
In my opinion when writing a dvd review, the reviewer should not spend too much time in giving the story line away,as in my opinion this gives the veiwer a insight into what to expect and may spoil the viewing experience.
As lots of THRILLER / HORROR / SUSPENCE movies these days tend to go down the route of REMAKES from the mid 1970,s and early - mid 1980,s (Texas chain saw massacre,The hills have eyes and the such like).All of which in my opinion are far more gruesome in thier later versions than the original,mainly due to the use of far superior technology,but all hold the same story line as the original.PLEASE READ ON

DEATH SENTENCE 2007...SAW 2005
Both of these films were directed by JAMES WAN...To all those original **SAW** fans out there,this was the man that directed the ""ORIGINAL SAW"".A superb film with very dark and gruesome story line, but also telling minimaly the family life of the victims, had a rather abrupt end that "if you thnk back it still does your head in".Even after watching SAW 2 3 & 4.DEATH SENTENCE IS>>>

DEATH SENTENCE...
A family man (Kevin Bacon) ,that is very happily married with a Beutifull wife (Kelly Preston) 2 boys aged 18 and 14.

PLOT...

In a gangland inisitiation at a petrol station,1 family member gets murdered.

Who seaks revenge ?
Against who?
A gang leader ?
or his father ? (John Alderman)

This movie is basicly a re- run of the DEATH WISH (vigilante movie made in 1973)) but has a little SAW type ending.Far more gruesome in detail than DEATH WISH,Bacon is great playing his character ,the family man and JOHN ALDERMAN acts and plays a part that you would not believe.The ending produces,under the circumstances a show down of shear brutality and near forgiveness.

TOP NOTCH STUFF..starts family..ends not so..NOT ONE FOR THE KIDS THAT HAVE NOT LEFT SCHOOL

A middle-class, white-collar Dad, devoted to his wife and growing sons, becomes a killing machine when one of his lads is murdered for kicks by a gang of thugs. Gripping, violent thriller stars Kavin Bacon as the vigilante father. It includes a really exciting chase (on foot) which is technically brilliant as well as edge-of-the-seat entertainment.

Definately worth a watch.an excellent performance by kevin bacon, and
there are some great action set pieces.
A 21st century Death Wish.

If you like a revenge films this will keep you gripped and urging him on as he gets revenge on a gang of thugs who killed his son in an initiation killing to become a member of the gang.It's the sort of thing you could imagine doing yourself if you were put in his position!!

What a great film, story of revenge against thugs who killed his son. Kevin Bacon plays a good part of the vigilante dad.................................

It was good film but not as good as i thought it would be..All it is is a film about revenge..Was a bit disappointed but still watched it...

Excellent Film ,asking that ultimate question. What would you do if your loved one was brutely taken away from you? Especially in todays culture where the government has lost control of law and order and you have no fiath in the justice system!

Oh my golly gosh!!! that was a Violent Movie.
Kevin Bacon gave a performance that was very believable.

You would not think that Kevin Bacon would have it in him to go after a gang of thugs who killed his son at a petrol station, but go after them he does and he does it with style! This film is a must have for any serious film collector. Brilliant just brilliant!

i like this film alot when i rent'd it some of the scenes was missing beacuse the disk was damaged so i got the dvd when i came out to buy and loved it

The film takes us neatly from "the perfect family" to a couple and their son irretrievably ruined for life because "some a-hole wants to be accepted into a gang". It portrays what we would all like to do to a brutal murderer if we had abandoned any fear of consequences.

I watched this after having read the back of the box in the shop and thinking it sounded quite good. Quite good is an under statement. It is an excellent action packed normal family man becomes psycho renegade revenge film. I thoroughly enjoyed this film, Brilliant.

Excellent film, good performance by Kevin Bacon. Will keep you gripped from start to end. Recommend to anyone who likes a good action film.

Very good film which keeps you on the edge of your seat. Lots of action and blood with Kevin Bacon and John Goodman playing excellent roles.

If you like fast action thrillers then you will not be disappointed with this.
