Black Comedy, Immortality Has Never Been Funnier!

Goldie Hawn, Meryl Streep & Bruce Willis star in this hilarious black comedy about peer pressure, love, jealousy, and the lengths a woman will go to, just to impress her friends....or should that be enemies??

This film is so funny it will have you laughing all the way through.

Can you really look like a 20yr old for the rest of your life?? These ladies wish they could, and will do anything to achieve it.....and I mean anything!

But just what is the price on immortality? and is it worth it? Forever really is such a long time.....are you prepared??

All the actors have such a wonderful chemistry between them that it makes this film a pleasure to watch over and over again, there will always be something you missed the first time around, and knowing what to look out for the next time just makes the effects all the better.

I would definately recommend this film!

  All hail Bruce Willis
Review created: 05/11/08

It's the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen him in, barring his appearence in Friends, which was just ODD! But I love this film. You have a star studded cast running around like idiots but it's great, and I've never seen anything like it. Good to have it on DVD now, because my video taped off the tv many moons ago was getting a bit old!

This film is absolutely hilarious, Meryl Streep and Goldie Hawn are terrific in these roles. I particuarly love the opening scene, with Meryl in a 'Marilyn' type role.
This is a great movie, definately one for a giggle!

  death becomes her
Review created: 09/05/08

A crazy comedy film featuring the excellent Goldie Hawn and Meryl Streep over-acting in a good cause for a change. It gets crazier as it progresses towards the climax when both women fall to pieces on the steps of a church. A whacky sense of humour is required to enjoy this film.

Death Becomes Her: A dark, camp & side splitting film.
Review created: 06/02/08
by:

I bought this as a replacement as I "lost" my last copy. Hate Bruce Willis because the Die Hard films aren't your cup of tea? Give this film a go. Camp, OTT, not afraid to take the preverbial out of itself with some one liners that will skick with you forever. The following is from imdb.com (and they're often rather unkind with their reviews!!):

There is so much greatness in this unexpected Hollywood comedy that the cheap shots are really cheap and, quite frankly, unbearable. Buried somewhere between the special effects (extraordinary by the way) is one the wittiest satires to come out of Hollywood in many, many moons. Meryl Streep is sensational and Bruce Willis is, I swear, unrecognizable in the best possible way. The movie hits the highest moments when, for instance, Meryl asks Isabella Rossellini how much the magic potion costs and Isabella replays: "Oh the sordid topic of coin" sublime, exquisite, funny but with enormous regard for its audience. But when Bruce calls Goldie Hawn to explain the "incident" at home he goes through a TV style monologue that seems to belong to a sit-com and not to the elegant vulgarity of this three sad, magnificent wannabees. The dialog, for the most part, is the best in any American serious comedy since Billy Wilder. The structure of the script is flawless and inventive. The costumes are atrocious and certain scenes seem directed by a 3rd assistant. I don't know how to explain it. However, I have it, I own it and sometimes I put it on with my finger in the fast forward. What's good is so good that makes the whole thing really worth it.
