The Day The Earth Stood Still (DVD)

Ok I am a science fiction junkie however I do like a good story. This is basically awful. Boring boring boring I actually fell asleep and it had nothing to do with the bottle of Merlot I drank waiting for something to happen. Nothing did, Reeves was great in the Matrix but his usual wooden faceless acting that did ok in that film just made it even more BORING in this one. Nano technology eating everything (ok so now you know I am seriously into science fiction) Yes we are ruining the planet but give me something that scares the poo out of me not a wooden totum pole who eventually changes his mind and lets us live because he takes a shine to the son of the human heroine. I had read a few reviews on this and 50% said it was awful but I really wanted to like it. Sorry but even my wife who I am trying to get into science fiction said it was `crap` Honestly forget it dont waste your money I had to see it to make my own mind up but take it from me its bloody awful. Every story needs a beginning,middle and end, this had a good beginning a good middle but the end if there was one was dreadful.

MY PARTNER AND I REALLY LIKED THIS FILM. ITS FULL OF GREAT SPECIAL EFFECTS AND THE SOUND AND PIC QUALITY ARE FANTASTIC. TOO MANY PEOPLE COMPARE THIS TO THE ORIGINAL FILM AND MOAN ABOUT THE ACTING. WE HAD NO PROBLEMS WITH THE ACTORS OR STORY. JUST WATCH IT AS A NEW FILM AND ENJOY.
