A Hell of a Weather Report

It’s one of those apocalyptic movies where half the globe population is wiped out by dramatic climatic calamities, and the other half struggles to survive. So you’ll get what you expect: it’s spectacular and sensational, but that’s about it.
Apart from Dennis Quaid and Ian Holm the cast is a bit cheap, the directing is not a masterpiece, and it’s a bit soapy on the edges. But there’s enough action to make up and the camera keeps you in at all times. Moreover, there’s quite a lot of blasting views you won’t see anywhere else (Manhattan under the ice, or LA swept up by a colony of typhoons for instance).
So if you’re looking for a journey through a hurricane, there’s your film.
