I really like this classic album from David Gray, I have not always been a David Gray fan, however this being his first album it certainally is his best. In addition to this I would say that every song is catchy and can be described as a easy listening. This album is on par with James Blunt's debut album in that it can appeal to a lot of people with different music tastes. Many of the songs on White Ladder have been released into the charts and would therefore be recognised regardless of ever actually you heard the album. This is a must have CD and would go nicely to those chilled out moments you choose to have.

This album is so beautiful, it has great calming and relaxing songs on. Gray is a musical genius with his beautiful lyrics and wonderful songs which so much passion has been put into them. This album cheers you up, puts you in a good mood, and helps you to reflect.

A well thought out and good easy listening CD. Some good songs but all quite unobtrusive which is exactly what is expected I suppose. No surprises or disappointments from this CD

As a relatively new fan of David Gray; having only heard his singles before, I was pleasantly suprised by this album. The album has a sheer need to be listened to; i find myself singing along (perhaps not for the benefit of everyone in my house)

The only weak track on the album is the title track, 'White Ladder' - for some reason i simply do not find it to share the same quality as the rest of the album.

The lyrics are meaningful; poetic. The accompanying music is quiet and melodic - with some lovely piano work on here.

This is an excellent cd,I received a copy for my birthday years ago and still love it.. So good in fact if you purchase a copy be prepared ! over the years due to 'various family and friends' after ( borrowing ) my copy to quote 'try at home' become reluctant to return it,,so I found a solution - an easy one upto now i have given 7 people the same gift .i do hope anyone reading this try's this cd i am sure you will love it!i think this david gray album is his best . people of all ages wether there david gray fans or not seem to like it.hope you find this useful hullewok

Have always loved this album, reminds me of the year my son was born! Which was so special.

This album is great!! Really easy to listen to!! You can enjoy it any time, night or day!! A definite CD for the collection!!

I'll start off by saying that the reason I bought this album off ebay was because my original copy was worn out!
This is a great album, suitable for any mood with upbeat tracks and some slower songs
All fantastically written and performed
Would recommend to people of all ages

This was the original recording that David Gray made before he became famous. It is quite rare, and in my humble opinion better than the revamped version that became the million seller.
Additionally the money raised went to a good cause, so both parties were happy.

I recently returned from holiday in Zakinthos. One day whilst on holiday we were cruising the Ionian sea on a yacht and as we calmly sailed in the morning, White Ladder played on the music system. It was absolute heaven. I just had to get the album on my return. Now I have the album and I'm playing it in the car, it's lost something. I feel it should be played calmly in the background but then it doesn't do anything for me at all. If I play it louder when I'm on my own its better but I soon tire of it after a few tracks. Maybe it will grow on me.

i bought this item because i am building up a collection of my fav music , the david gray cd was a great buy to add to my collection

I would love to write a review to say that I have really enjoyed listening to this CD but unfortunately the person I bought it from never sent it, nor did they reply to my emails or return my money!!!
