David Essex Double Bill - That'll Be The Day / Stardust (DVD)

These two titles take us through the rise and spectacular fall of rock n' roller Jim McLaine (David Essex). Excellent supporting roles from Ringo Starr, Adam Faith, Larry Hagman, Keith Moon, Billy Fury, Robert Lindsay and many faces from the 70s music scene such as Dave Edmunds and Paul Nicholas. The mood of Britain in the 1950s & early 60s is brilliantly conjured up as are the excesses of the 1970s. Have a greedy night in and watch them both back to back - superb!

My mum being a real David Esex fan asked me to find a film called "that'll be the day", to which i found successfully on ebay.

To my suprize i found the DVD to have two films and thus i brought it.

After arriving with my mum being all curious and all found out what had arrived and her face grinned with glee , a item than can bring so much happyness is well worth the money in my book and would recommend this item to anyone who can do the same..

I love the 1970's and this film was a reminder of my youth. An enjoyable film with great music. Wish I would buy the soundtrack

My hubby has been looking for these films for ages. I was trying to find them on video and was over the moon to find them on dvd. Hubby is now chuffed to bits and reliving his youth!

Fantastic films been trying too buy That will be the day for ages as its one of my favourite films, as i really love David Essex but got a bonus of stardust film, excellent price and quality

What a classic double bill - The rise and fall of a pop star, with all the excess one would expect from a great era. with supporting actors like Adam Faith, Ringo Star, Robert Lindsey ....its genious!

I have thought about buying this DVD for such a long time but couldn`t afford it, then along you came! So thank you very much for being in the right place at the right time for me.

This is a good CD that has never lost its popularity and is one you can keep on watching without tiring of it. The music is superb.

if ever you've been to butlins it'll bring back good or bad memories .classic bit of british cinema.

The 1960s through the eyes of the 1970s, only a decade away. The story of the Beatles, the Stones or who ever portraying the 60s British beat group invasion of America. Musical talents verses capitalism, Rise and decline and it all really happened. Jim McLean and the Stray cats were fiction but story was real.

I bought this film because it was a lot of it was filmed Here on The Isle of Wight.and I watched some of the scenes being fimed,and I also know one of the extras in the film.
The holiday camp where this was filmed is now derelict sorry to say can be watched on youtube search for Harcourt Sands

GREAT CLASSIC FILM..GOT SOME REAL FUNNY BITS IN IT..THATLL BE THE DAY IS THE BEST OF THE TWO FILMS...

they are to very good films to watch even better if you remember the seventies
and david essex he's fab and thoroughly enjoyable

two of the best films about the 50s and sixties david is at his best.
