  Glamtastic!!
Review created: 05/02/09

I had a copy of 'Aladdin Sane' and listened to it constantly! But as I was cleaning out my car, I can't seen to find it anywhere! SO heartbroken, and I had to buy another copy of it! :D

Continuing from the awesomeness that was 'Ziggy Stardust', Bowie manages to crank out another brilliant glam rock gem. From, 'Drive-In Saturday' to 'Jean Genie', you definitely will be tempted to get up and dance around like a fool!

What I love about glam the most is that most of the musical influences are from old-school three cord rock and roll jive and very basic and heavy drum beats...which the likes of Bowie seem to make his own and give him that unique sound. No wonder he's considered one of the forerunners of the glam era! A good example of the glam stomp is a track called 'Cracked Actor': handclaps, harmonicas, and swingy guitar riffs galore!

If you're a fan of Bowie and don't have this album, or you just like good music in general, buy this album!!

Personal faves - 'Drive-In Saturday', 'Cracked Actor', 'The Prettiest Star'

  David Bowie. Aladdin Sane.

David at an inspired peak. Superb example of his earlier genius, ideal as an introduction for people too young to have experienced mid-seventies first hand.
In my humble opinion, this album was the one that identified David as a league or two above anyone in this period.

I'm loving it, it takes me right back to the 1970's when everything was much simpler. Can now listen to my fave tracks in the car on my way to work

IMHO Bowie at his absolute best. Every track a classic which stand the test of time and I think they are as good now as they were when out on vinyl for the first time.
