Album Notes The ex-Hefner singer Darren Hayman has enjoyed a prolific career since the retirement of the lo-fi indie legends as both a solo artist and as part of several side projects. With 'Pram Town', Hayman returns for a second outing with his Secondary Modern outfit, this time creating a sprawling concept album (loosely termed a 'folk opera' by its creator) based on the Essex town of Harlow. While it may seem a bizarre central theme for a whole album, Hayman evokes an equally nostalgic and romantic atmosphere with songs about life and love in a suffocating suburb.
