Curse Of The Golden Flower (DVD)

An excellent film.had watched house of flying daggers and had been told that if i liked these sort of films, i would really enjoy this one. It has a really good story line, and well worth watching.A really enjoyable film.

I found this to be the best all round combination of action, story line(understandable)& acting of it`s type.Claimed to be the most expensive Chinese film made & certainly looks it,highly recommended.

I liked the movies the director has done previously. His latest movies have been epic and visually stunning and this one is no different.

It was a wonderful film!
I loved it, it had such wonderful colours
and the simple story line, made it easy to understand wat was happening.
It had some good fight scenes, but the ending
was a bit bare, it could of needed something else
instead of the one they used, it need a more dramatic ending perhaps
but still it was a brill film!!

If you liked "The Water Margin" or "Monkey" from tv years ago then this will be a great film to watch!This;although subtitled is the most colourful action-packed film i've seen with an interesting story easy to follow without reading the subtitles continuously and a cast of thousands of choreographed Chinese actors!If you have a big tv then this is the film to show it off with!the stunts make Kill-Bill and Bruce Lee films look amateurish!I got this with an E-bay voucher and delivered for £1.50 FANTASTIC bargain 5 stars all round!!

What a Great film,

Full of action, which you would expect from CHOW YUN FAT, but this film is also full of Beauty, culture and intregue.
The beauty comes from the leading lady, (GONG LI), who plays the second wife of the Emperor, Mother to some of his Children. However, the Emperor is poisoning his second wife and she knows it, but whilst the Emperor is away , the Emperess will play , with the eldest son, Her stepson , whilst also plotting a coup to over throw the Emperor.
But , Stepson is in love with the girl in the village, daughter to the Emperors first wife, ( his own mum, whom he beleives to be dead). This just adds to the plot and reason.
This is a film about war and trust and a family in the midst of cataclism. This film twists and whineds its way to a brilliant conclussion and ultimate distruction of a Family, a Monercy and a Dynesty.

This film takes you in to the heart of culture and the oriental world. With vibrant colours and sounds you will be sitting inside the film

film very good and film has very good fighting despite the english subtitles. Very good purchase made.

I loved this film. It is beautifully filmed and the costumes and sets are fantastic. Good storyline and a surprise ending. Wonderful!
