The follow up to Creed's debut album ( My Own Prison ) that truly revealed the band's full musical power. 'Human Clay' is ferocious in intesity, and at the same time, melodic and uplifting,
a musical framework that allows the intelligent and introspective lyrics to seep into your subconcious.
From the venomous snap of 'What If?', a song directed at the band's detractors and those who think before they speak, through 'With Arms Wide Open', a soaring song inspired by the birth of vocalist Scott Stapp's son, with Scott reflecting on his own turbulent life, and his wish that his son doesn't follow in his footsteps, to 'Wash Away Those Years' dealing with the harrowing account of a female friend of Stapp who was raped, it's a breathtaking experience.
Creed were one of the most successful acts in the late 90's, and this album alone went 11 times platinum in the US, making it one of the top 100 selling albums of all time.
If you're new to the band, 'Human Clay' is the perfect album to start with, and the UK version also includes the bonus track 'Young Grow Old' as well as the music videos to 'With Arms Wide Open' and 'Higher'.
