Creative Technology Sound Blaster Live! 5.1

Most of sound cards integrated on motherboards got a huge problem with multichannel sound in games. To enjoy Dolby Pro Logic 5.1 is really needed better card. Such as Creative Sound Blaster or ASUS Xonar.
But You have to be carefull: Sound Blaster Live! 5.1 and below doesn't work with Windows Vista and 7. Sound Blaster Live! 24-bit, Audigy family and X-Fi family works fine with Win Vista, but there are problems with Win 7. Maybe it's time to try something new? Maybe Asus Xonar show something new or force Creative to sell cards in lower prizes? I hope so...

This card is ideal for older systems. I have a skt 754 Athlon 64 2Ghz cpu, AGP 8X (Geforce 6200 graphics card) 1GB ram. The MOBO only supports 5.1 surround sound so this was perfect for my requirements.
The difference in quality on audio is unbelievable, I run my audio via the headphone jack to my Marantz amp, which has 4 speakers connected to it. Experimental and Prog rock music such as Aeryon's Into The Electric Castle, or Joe Satriani, Steve Vai and other guitar geniuses eclectic albums, with all the intricate harmonics and different vocal/instrumental arrangements are crystal clear.
I also think it helps graphically with games as well, because the cpu does not need to run averything through the MOBO chip.
For the price tht you can pick these cards up for it's a worthwhile investment, and buying from a high rated e-bayer, even better.
In my opinion Creative do make quality sound cards, and if you need something with more Get Up 'n' Go there is plenty to choose from.
