Coyote Ugly (DVD 2001)

Violet Sanford played by Piper Perabo is an innocent young woman from New Jersey with a dream to go to New York City to follow her dream of becoming a songwriter. The problem is that to get her songs heard, she actually has to sing them herself. Suffering with a psychological fear of stage fright, she finds a spot at a night club but bottles her perfomance after abuse being hurled at her by a shovanistic audience member.

She visits another club and asks for the Music Manager. The barman decides to capitalise on her naivete and have a little fun. He leads her to believe the man who cooks the burgers is the Music Manager. Embarrasingly, she approaches the man and asks him if he can help her achieve her goal and hands him a cassette sample of her song to which the opportunist burger cook, Kevin O'Donnel, played by Australian actor Adam Garcia, accepts in the hope he can get to know her a little better.

Violet finds work at a bar called Coyote Ugly dancing on bars in skimpy outfits with a crew of other girls (The Coyotes) pulling in the punters for owner Lil, played by Mario Bello. She earns a lot of money in tips but her new boyfriend Kevin is upset she works in the bar lusted after by the male punters and wants her to pursue her songwriting dream.

Violet eventually finds herself a slot to sing at a large venue and just when everyone thinks she has stumbled again, she delivers a moving performance and reunites with estranged boyfriend Kevin.

This would be called mainly a woman's movie but is great for comedy and entertainment value.

Its an excellent ' male ' movie, what more could a man ask for in a movie, girls dancing on top of a Bar, excellent soundtrack by Leanne Rimes, Overall a movie I would not get bored with in seeing again & again. I am very happy with purchase thankyou.

this i a wonderful film, about violet a small town girl who moves to big city to be a singer. along the way she makes friends, has a good time and falls in love. i have seen it before has great seens and outstanding soundtrack.i highly reccomend this to anyone. gives the rest of us hope we can gain are goals.
i love when they are dancing on the bar and voilet stars to sing, also when she performs for the first time ever on stage

Coyote Ugly is an excellent film. It portrays a wonderful father-daughter relationship that everyone can enjoy. It also shows how any parent may cope with the "empty-nest" syndrome that seems to occur when your child leaves home. Violet is the main character and she is a good example for any girl/woman. She is strong, independent and determined. The music is great, storyline is remarkable, all in all *****!

This movie was brilliant - everybody I know that watched it loved it, both boys and girls - but for different reasons.

The Girls loved the music, the relationships that grow throughout the film, and well the whole film together...

The Boys only like one thing about it - the "hot" girls dancing dirty on the bar.

This film is amazing, the cast was perfect and the soundtrack was brilliant. What more can you ask for in a film?

I could watch this film over and over again and not get bored of it. I recommend it to everyone - but it's best for teenagers.

Nice chick flick never gets boring!! My 9 year old daughter watched it on tv and then asked for it for xmas hence the purchase and the hubby likes it too wonder why lol !!

GOOD FILM, BOUGHT IT FOR SISTER GERARDINE WHO WATCHED IT FEW YEARS AGO WITH MY LATE SISTER ANNE WHEN SHE ONLY HAD DAYS TO LIFE WITH CANCER AND IT HOLDS A LOT OF STRONG MEMORYS FOR HER.

This is my all time fav film.. I've watched it so many times.. Know the songs and love the actors, But i've never owned a copy of it myself, So that is why I decided to get myself one.

I lived the Bar scenes the wild side od life is always more interesting than a hard luck story with a happy ending. Some of the catchy lines got me in stitches and i think its definately one for the girls and happy boys.

i watched it on tv my daughter missed it so i bought it for her birthday we enjoyed this film because it is based on a song writer who wrote songs for leanne rimes we both love her songs

Great film for a girlie night in and a bottle of vino!! Bought it especially for that purpose!! Would reccommend to anyone - my husband even watched it and enjoyed it!!!!

Ive seen it many times and its a complete girly film, involving finding yourself, romance, being determined in life and going after what you want.

love this film, i dont really see why people wouldnt like it. Its one of those films which is a chick flick but also i dont think guys would really mind too much having to sit through it!
