Convoy (DVD 2001)

Convoy is a 1970's cult pop clasic film. It should be watched and enjoyed by all. For a few brief years everyone in the UK aspired to a CB radio, with its connotations of freedom, independence. Once it became legal to own one all kids and grandmothers had one, blocking up the airways, died out in the end.
The story line followes a wave of C.B truckers hell bent on there own crusade against authority. With an americana 1970's feel the film is a product of its area. Ernest Borgnine is fantastic as 'Sherriff Lyle Wallice' and chases 'Rubber Duck', 'Pig Pen' as they drive through the states of New Mexico, Texas and Arizona. They are pursued by the law, and gradually more and more truckers join on at the back of the line until they have literally hundreds of lorries, all roaring along the highways in protest of the prejudicial treatment they receive from the cops.
I can't tell you why the film is so good it just is. So go out and buy it. You wont be disappointed.

This film may be fictional, but without doubt it is a true portrayal of how hard working truck drivers the world over are treated by the corrupt law officers the world over. Now I am far from saying all police are corrupt because that is clearly NOT the case, nor would it be true to say that all truck drivers are law breakers, because that is clearly NOT the case either.

However, this film leaves no stone unturned in telling the true story from both sides of the tracks. This film starts with how a corrupt officer extorts money from law breakers, and ends with both sides learning that corruption and dishonesty does not pay in anyway shape or form.

This film shows the best, and the worst from both worlds, and it has to be said that both law officers and truck drivers have seemingly learned the lesson of convey, because while there are still corrupt police and drivers who flout the law, both sides have clearly improved.

Having said all of that, convoy is rated twelve, I think I would have rated it eighteen myself because it does contain strong sexual inuendo, and some scenes of serious violence.

brilliant film it is a good old classic film.its got a good sountrack that really suits the type of film.its a film you can watch over and over again and never get bored! i brought it as i used to watch it when i was little as it was a favourite of my dads.

Excellent film, well worth watching, big trucks, big boys, & a girl all makes a story of "good" guys against the "baddie cops" seems real & possible.

i have liked this film becase i used to be on the radio myself and i liked it
when it came out on the pics and on tv i whanted it on dvd for ages it is one of the all time brill films and classic so 10.10 till we do it again 10.4 over and out

i brought this dvd for my husband and he loves it and so does my three year old son as he likes to sit and watch it with his daddy i brought this as my husband is a truck driver and he always has the occasional convoy with his mates who work for the same company

This item was a very unpleasant experience and has made me seriously doubt purchasing any further DVD's from ebay - the DVD was blank and the seller had already been removed from ebay so I have lost my money on this item - not a nice thing to happen

This is a great film. I purchased the DVD because we had it on vidio, but my husband wanted it on DVD, because he loves the film soooo much

bought for a xmas present for my son who saw the film on tv and thought it was great.My husband was supposed to tape the film but missed half of it,my son was impressed with the lorries and espically RUBBERDUCK who the film was about.

BOUGHT THIS DVD FOR MY TWO YOUNG BOYS WHO LOVED THE FILM WHICH I HAD TAPED FOR THEM OFF THE TELLY BUT THEN LOST IT IN OUR HOUSE MOVE !
I KNOW IF I PUT THIS DVD ON I GET TOTAL PEACE!!
WORTH EVERY PENNY !!

Love the film. One of the all time great feel good movies. I would have liked a few more extra's. I decided to buy it as I had it on video and watched it quite often.

I really love this film because it reminds me of my childhood. I always watched when I used to go to my dads for the weekend when I was younger. My dad is a trucker and I wanted to be one myself, but I can't even drive a car, so that's gone out the window!

Seen the movie at the cinerma years ago and wanted it to add to my collection of dvds. It is as good today as when I seen it last

Not much to say really, liked the film when it came out years ago so though I would buy a DVD as I have not watched the film for a few years

This is one of my favourite films of all time.

So far above smokey and the bandit convey looks at a group of truckers protesting against dodgy cops. An excellent sound track goes so well with the amazingly choreographed fight scenes (in slow motion) and western style speech.

Watch it or be in trouble with the law. 10-4 - RubberDuck over and out

i was glad to find this film on ebay.ive olny see parts of this film and i can not wait to see it and i would like to see the making of the film and see all of the trucks to.
