True British Comedy

Britain in the 1980s was still wallowing in the post-Python era, Morecambe and Wise were still churning out the same routines they had 20 years earlier (and we were still laughing), and a succession of predictable sitcoms followed the well-trodden path to success. Then the bomb of the opening sequence dropped on The Comic Strip Presents. We were introduced to the unique talents of a bunch of writers and thespians who a decade later would no longer be the upstarts, but as much the establishment as those they had dared to challenge when they first burst on the scene.
The talents of Mayall and Edmondson, French and Saunders, Planer and Sayle, Coltrane and Richardson are evidenced in a stream of new material alongside anarchic send-ups of such extremes as the Famous Five and Spaghetti Westerns, featuring half-hour gems such as Eddie Monsoon: A Life? up to the full length movie The Supergrass. From it's humble and daring beginnings in the 1980s this boxed set follows their talents into the 21st century. Here we have 9 DVDs totalling more than 26 hours of undiluted comedy genius.
Buy it, you won't regret it.
