Club Dread (DVD 2004)

My friend & I are huge fans of Broken Lizard movies "Beerfest" & "Supertroopers". We have even come up with our own complex drinking game to play whilst watching Beerfest, good times! We found out that the Broken Lizard gang had created an earlier film in "Club Dread" a slasher horror spoof/comedy.

AWESOME we thought as I eagerly purchased the cheapest copy on eBay! Ladies & gents... I payed 40p for that DVD (excluding P&P) & I feel robbed. Yes they may well have been working out the kinks in an "earlier film" but I can count the laughs on 2 digits & I know what these great comedians are capable of! Early work or not it is a DISGRACE of a movie & I would only recomend it if you actually want something to fall asleep to as my aforementioned friend did.

Broken Lizards previous movie 'Super Troopers' was one of the funniest comedies I have ever seen and I was looking forward to this their next offering. Unfortunately the film is a complete mess. It can't decide whether it is a comedy or horror, most so called jokes fall flat and the plot meanders all over the place.

Most scenes seem improvised (and not in a good way) and the camera shakes alot giving it a real amateur feel. There are some stabs (excuse the pun) at spoofing the slasher genre but most are pretty obvious.

One to avoid.

brought it cos i love supertroppers and its the same ppl in this one also,not as funny as supertroppers but still worth a look!

I bought this dvd because, september last year i went to the cinema to watch beerfest which has the same acting headline more or less which then lead to super troopers and then club dread. Beerfest and super troopers are two of the funniest films of all times however club dread still funny and entertaining jus not on the same level as the otha two, and for a couple of quid that i paid for it a bargain i would recommend any film that this acting group is in even if i hadnt seen it, genious!

this is done by broken lizard a comedy act that have made such films as SUPERTROOPERS(too funny in parts!) and more recently BEERFEST!! its pretty gory in parts but again stupidly funny in others!! this is a good film but u must like the kind of humour these guys use,it even has a few genuinly jumpy bits and a bit of a twist at the end....if u av a spare couple of hrs then sit down and watch this film...even better have a full night in and watch all 3!!!

hmm a bit odd as some1 cant actually die when everything else is very real! but a funny sexy film which will appeal to teenagers and easy going adults!!!
