Don't be gettin' in a tizzy about " Mesiah". Chuck E. ain't the next Messiah but he may be the saviour of urban jazz, grimy, filthy, face down in the gutter jazz. The writer, I should say designer of this page has made my point. " Tell us about this product..." Sadly that's what American urban music has become and exactly what Mr. Weiss must save it from. Chuck E.'s music is many things as it should be, but calling it product is not only inaccurate it's blasphemous.
Music is borderless. Created, played and listended to the same way around the world. It makes the world a smaller place, kind of like religion but without the wars.
Music should open your imagination and let it get some fresh air and a little exercise. Well "Old Souls" will have you running a marathon from the delicate soft blues of "It Don't Happen Overnight" which captures the plight of middle America. "Workin' for Peanuts, breakin' your back". We've all been there, done that. "Two Tone Car" a Louisiana rocker will take you back to a time when American's could afford their love affair with the automoble. If you ain't tappin' your toe check for a pulse, 'cause you is dead! To howling at "G-D damn liars". Do yourself a favour and pick-up this album. It will make you happy.
God bless Chuck E. Weis and God Bless the United States of America!
