Chinatown (DVD)

Bought the dvd as it wasn't too expensive. A classic film noir that is set in the late 1930's just before the 2nd World War. Superb casting with Jack Nicholson playing the ex cop, come private eye, JJ Gittes and Faye Dunaway as a suspect. Both superbly acted and this version has a crisp quality and also explains how the quality of the film was derived. There are so many twists and turns in the film plus the title of the film is explained in the add ons. Brilliantly filmed, and in some scenes there is very contrasty lighting used, which adds to the atmosphere. One to add to your collection.
