Chewin' The Fat Live

I don't know when CTF live was filmed. I think it was before series 3 and 4; there's some overlap between sketches in those series and this live act, but the audience doesn't react as if they've seen them before, so it'd be wise to let that criticism go.
I marvel at all the quick costume changes. The Old Slapper, the Banter Boys, Jack and Victor, The Arguing Threesome, the Lighthouse Boys are all here - as is Ronald Villiers, the Smoking Family and the Lonely Shopkeeper. It's a pity that The Neds and the Big Man aren't in this, though, or Brenda the bossy Aunt There's some in-jokes - which Ford Kiernan makes about not being able to smoke at the theatre while doing the Smoking Family sketch. And then there's the parts where the giggles loom and lines are fluffed (Karen Dunbar does this twice). It's all great fun, but unlike Chewin' the Fat and Still Game, I wouldn't persuade anyone other than an F & G devotee to buy this (or the Hogamany version), unless it's going cheap. There's not much here that you won't have seen before, and better.
