SUNRISE is modern psychedelia of the highest order, smart enough to mix in Celtic folk guitars and Middle Eastern instrumental accents amidst satisfyingly meaty garage guitars, elevating The Chesterfield's latest far above the Thirteenth Floor. For instance, on the album highlight, "Up And Down, " bluesy harmonica and down-and-dirty jukebox grooves give way to a classically jangly chorus, just another sign that the Kings are moving full steam ahead of the retro competition.
