Decided to buy this after reading her autobiography and watching her recent tv chat show. I wasn't disappointed, most of the songs are co-written by Charlotte and many touch on her real life experiences. Some upbeat, some slower, overall a good mix and I'm glad I bought it!

Liked Crazy Chick so bought album. Other tracks ok but nothing special. If you're a Charlotte Church fan then you'll probably love it but the tracks seemed a bit overprocessed for my liking

I dedided to buy Charlotte's CD as all the tracks from the album had gone Top 10!
What a great decicion i made, her voice is fantastic, the lyrics are from the heart and also the music was excellant, she also wrote most of the songs herself.
She's had alot of bad press over the last few years but i say "Well done Charlotte for an amazing album"
I'm looking forward to the new one....

I decided to buy this CD as it indicated this was an original sealed CD. I was a little apprehensive about sending a cheque as i do prefer to pay via paypal. When the CD arrived it was obvious this was a copy. Immediately poor feedback was given but was not surprised to see that the seller was no longer a member of Ebay and alot of bad feedback had already been received. I did request a refund but have still not had a reply! This was the first time i have beeen conned and i am usually very careful when purchasing a CD. I always check to see if it is an original and check the sellers feedback. Luckily the CD did not cost too much. It is a shame that some people are not honest about the items they are selling as this can make people think twice about purchasing an item and using Ebay.

I had only heard *Crazy Chick* before I bought this, and liked it, but I found the album disappointing. Cheryl Cole was right, Charlotte Church was trying to steal Girls Alouds' sound! They do it well, but Church can't carry it off.

Tissues and Issues. The real issue is the record itself

Firstly i'd like to point out that i am not a Charlotte Church fan, nor am i somebody that dislikes her.
One wonders why this album was poorly recieved and flopped in the charts, afterall 'Crazy Chick' was a perfectly crafted pop record that should have made number one.
It would seem however, that the rest of this album is either average, or below average, middle of the road pop.
What else can be made of this album?
'Call My Name' is an average song that hypothetically would be the fourth or fifth single to bolster sales. This was the second single and wasn't outstanding or remarkable.
The following singles, 'Even God' and 'Moodswings (To Come At Me Like That)' are dull and Church's voice seems weak and unimpressive. It's sad that someone with operatic skill such as Church, is a weaker pop singer than Victoria Beckham, Cherryl Tweedy and Rachel Stevens.
The track has many filler tracks that don't show any potential and are the sorts of songs that average Girlbands would reject.
So why did Church's career stall, instead of flourishing to the likes of Madonna, Britney, Christina and Mariah, instead of collapsing like Jo O'Meara, Jamelia and Lindsay Lohan.
Church, should consider making another record, but calling upon producers who can create tracks that are standout, fun pop.
Ms. Church, instead of taking swipes at Girls aloud, maybe you should seek their help, or producers.
Not a bad album, but something that a group like Clea would release. WHO? Exactly.

not the charlotte church well loved for her usual heavenly music. charlottes first three albums have been an inspiration to both young and old bringing together all kinds of townsfolk with her spiritual singing heavenly voice gifted to her by jehova and pleasing to the ear.
charlottes new album has taken a turn for the worse as so many gifted artist also do when they forget their roots and innocence being caught up in a celeb lifestyle which they get drummed into them by the rat race of societies dog eat dog attitude of becoming a superstar and icon to be looked up to by many with the messages they convey in a fasion which is a source of the turmoil which so many go through but fear to face up to or deny
im sure it would please so many to have the old charlotte church back

Charlotte Church: Tissues and Issues (Review)

When former child star and operatic Voice of an Angel Charlotte Church grew up, we knew things were going to be different. As a feisty 19 year old with a rugby player boyfriend, she's been in and out of the papers every since she discovered boys and alcohol. Tissues and Issues sees Charlotte attempt to cross over from the classical chambers into the pop pond, but were our expectations, dreaming of a pop saviour, simply too high?

Unleashing "Crazy Chick" as her debut pop single, it was obvious Charlotte wasn't working with the current trend of putting 80s electro beats behind her music. Instead here was a soulful, confident ass-shaking hairbrush hit. Unfortunately it was a solitary shiny penny gleaming out of a pool of mud.

Brimmed to the max with middle of the road ballads, the album is sadly lacking anything clever, special or original and you can't help but wish that collaborators such as Xenomania and Richard X had been picked instead of those who were.

Single number 2 "Call My Name" is another motown inspired number, but is sadly little more than "Crazy Chick Part II" (the part without the catchy bit). The same can be said for "Moodswings". "Let's Be Alone" is pretty much the only other upbeat track on the album and here she fuses her classical sounds with middle eastern twinged dance beats.

And so, into the ballads... "Easy to Forget" is just that, and its slight urban sound makes it sound like a watered down version of All Saints' "War of Nerves". The frankly dreadful "Even God" sees Charlotte lose all attitude and credibility and is nearly enough to bring any sane listener to tears of boredom or laughter. Only "Fool No More", heavily influenced by Jamelia's Stop, can redeem the 2nd half of the album. You can just imagine Bridget Jones pensively dreaming of her one true love, while listening to this song.

There is enough promise in Crazy Chick to make you think that, no matter how bad this album is, one day she will return with a more compelling set of tunes, given a better set of producers and songwriters.

So pop pickers, our hopes are dashed this time, but for now let's keep those fingers crossed for a saviour in the form of Sophie Ellis Bextor's 3rd album, or even better, a Billie comeback.
