Charlie Jade - three worlds, one hope
Review created: 16/02/08(updated 26/02/08)

This is real grown up science fiction. It has a great plot and it makes you think about many possibilities. Be warned - you have to pay attention! I love the look of this show, the way the different worlds are coloured and the style of the whole thing, a sort of blend of graphic novel and film noir. It looks like it was filmed for the big screen. The characters are engaging and disturbing, strongly drawn and vividly portrayed. The idea that if parallel worlds were discovered someone would try and take advantage - the more technological grabbing resources from the less - is not, perhaps, original but it is cleverly done, and for once we are not the villains but the victims of a Bladerunner style world run by big business.
I bought this because it is shown on FX and not one of my friends gets that channel. Being driven mad by not being able to talk about it I got the DVD to pass around and am making converts!
Watch this if you like adult SF, something a little different, and don't mind doing a little work to keep up.
