As everybody I know raves about CT I thought I'd better watch some of her stuff as I'd never watched her on TV. Unfortunately she isn't really my cup of tea, I did actually watch the whole of the 1st series back to back but I didn't find her that funny. I'm sure if you are a fan you would love this box set. The set I bought was in excellent condition so thank you once again to this great ebayer.

Takes a bit of getting used to but what a good observation she has for her characters especially Nan........worth it (still cant beat fast show) lol !!

bought this iem as the person loves the gran so it was a must just for that reason alone.

We first discovered Catherine Tate a year ago, when we moved here from South Africa, and find her characters really funny. It is hard to believe it is the same person, especially Nan, as she immerses herself in each role. What makes it so very funny, is that most of us know people just like the characters she portrays, and can identify them instantly!
My in-laws visited us, and loved her shows so much, that we bought this DVD for them to take back with them to South Africa.

well well well, what can i say the catherine tate show is brilliant. You had luagh after laugh with each episode, personally series 2 i believe is the best, with gay derek, lauren and nan had me in stitches. Not gonna spiol it but series 2 epidsode one i enjoyed the most it.

This is definatly a must have to put in your comedy collection, im so glad i brought it, brand new of ebay 2 series in one just £2.60!! a bloody bargin if u ask me. Im not sure if u guys will find a bargain like that again, but regardless of the price i seriously rccommend gettin this! xxxxxx

Overall, I felt this was a pretty impressive boxset. Catherine Tate's comedy characters have entered mainstream culture in Britain to such an extent that it's actually quite nice to look back at her first series as she learns her craft, even if the sketches aren't aren't always top notch. Bratty schoolgirl Lauren, for instance, is just a human catchphrase machine at this stage. Others, such as Margret The Frightened Woman, just repeat the same gag over and over again such that you can often see what's going to happen a mile off. Far cleverer is Nan Taylor, which shows some intellegent characterisation and writing, and isn't just somebody who bashes the same lines out over and over again.
By series two, Catherine's found her feet a bit more and her writing has improved alot. By now Lauren is a genuinely imaginative, funny chacacter who shows both obnoxiousnous but also a subtle intellegence. The new characters such as Derek Faye and Janice and Ray are both good additions and allow some of the weaker first season regulars to fade ino the background. The Nan is, of course, brilliant.
The extras aren't bad- disc one features a non-too-taxing behind the scenes chat with Catherine. The real treat however is Tate's Comic Relief turn when (as Lauren) she 'interviews' McFly- pure comedy gold! Disc two two extra's aren't quit as diverse- basicaly it's season two's Christams Special plus a montage of sketches by character rather than by episode. Not bad, but bear in mind you've spent the last two hours watching the same sketches so it's not as clever as it sounds.
Overall, I'd recommend this to anyone who likes sketch based comedy shows such as 'Little Britain' or 'Dead Ringers'- in fact Tate's way funnier than those overrated gross-out merchants Lucas and Walliams. Be warned though, if easily offended then some sketches, particularly the Nan ones, feature some fairly strong language.

Excellent - extremely funny - especially abusive gran who we all love. A woman of many characters, extremely talented and amusing. Would recommend. Hilarious!!!

For a while the UK comedy scene has been devoid of much really brillance but thanks to Catherine Tate we can be proud again, excellent characters and top notch writing, some I do not get completely but still highly enjoyable to watch time and time again

id heard so much about a woman called catherine tate and how funny she was but i didn't believe it until i seen it for myself i laughed all the way through it.It is a brilliant comedy and have told loads of people about it. its just great.

I was very pleased to get this dvd set at such a bargain price, i bought it because Catherine Tate has a wicked sense of humour, i will be looking out for the 3rd series and xmas specials on E-Bay, as this is the best place to bag a bargain.

Catherine TAte is one of the best humourist now a days,i recomend this dvd.I am looking forward for the next series come out,i will be buy it as soon as i can
