Bought it because I think Catherine Cookson writes excellent stories. This was excellent, it covered the prejudice against coloured people that has existed since time immemorial & does so today. I think Catherine covered this is a sypathetic manner even though the story ends unhappily.I especially warmed to the Priests comment that 'God is colour blind' Would be good if all nations were!
