Casio Exilim EX-S600 Digital Camera

Firstly, I'm nothing to do with casio or anyone linked to sales of anything associated and yet 22 people I've shown my camera to have bought one: that's how good they are!
I've owned three: one died in heavy rain at 60mph on my motorcycle (where it had been taking fantastic video for a year despite the heavy vibration and British weather) and instantly replaced in on eBay with an identical one. I have a newer version with higher megapixels and bigger screen, but it isn't as light and the video isn't as good quality. If only it was waterproof!
You can download a firmware update which gets it able to use 8GB SD cards. The battery runs out before the card gets full of video! On long bike runs I take a couple of batteries (about 45 mins of video each).
Photographers will like the ability to adjust exposure,focus etc. and store your settings. Normal people will like the fact that you don't have to: just pick from a menu of example photos (Best Shot button) and snap what you chose (flower for macro mode, footballers, for sports mode and loads more).
One best-shot mode, I call 'Jenga-mode': once activated, the camera is taking video in a 5 second loop... point it at a jenga tower and when the tower falls down, press a button and the video is recorded from the loop onwards: in other words you get video of the tower from 5 seconds before it fell down as well as the time after you press the button! Like filming back in time before a funny event!
One of the reasons I bought it originally was the start-up time being short, and the minimal number of buttons on it (you can pick it up without operating buttons)! It has a play button when you want it to show you things, a camera button for when you want to take photos and a record button for when you want to take a video (reasonable DVD quality).
Most importantly, it's so small that you'll have it with you when you need it, any bigger and it would be left behind.
Casio should stop making bigger numbers an focus on bullet-proofing this camera. Olympus have a water-proof, shock-proof camera that only records onto strange memory cards, only takes 10 seconds of video and costs a fortune. If this camera was made waterproof and shockproof (possibly fixed or internally moving lens) it would be the ultimate sports and petrolhead camera. Add the ability to power it from an external source and my motorbike videos would be perfect.
Insurance companies should give everyone one of these to have in their cars to show what really happened during an accident! In 3 years I've caught 5 terrifying drivers on video and I don't do much more than commute.
We took video and stills of lots of insects for my boys' school projects, they were fantastic.
We've stopped taking a separate video camera and still camera to our kids performances, this little thing does both and has survived many drops onto concrete.
Totally impressed with the camera - wish Casio would make an extreme sports version!

I bought a Casio a couple of years ago but it broke with the gentlest knock. My insurance company replaced it with a Casio EX-S600. Lovely, slim, packed with features but after 2 months the LCD screen went. I sent it back under warranty but Casio wanted £180 to replace the screen, saying that it wasn't covered. So I bought a broken camera on ebay and made one good one out of two. Avoid if you are at all ham-fisted.

I have used the EX-S600 before and liked the feel and ease of use of the camera. The latest purchase was for a charity youth club who are stretched for cash so buying from ebay was best option. Although the EX-600 is tiny compared to some other cameras I have used, it felt comfotable in my hand and as long as you remember to use the wrist strap at all times there is no fear of dropping it.
The pictures have sufficient clarity for most users and downloading to computer is simple. The controls can be quite fiddly at first but once you get used to them become second nature. Flash operation is fine as long as you remember to give it time to come into operation. All in all a good quality camera which you can take anywhere without having to worry about a bulky camera case falling off your shoulder.

I am totally disgusted that ebay allow conmen to sell on their site. No matter how many negative feedbacks they get, they are still allowed to rip people off. I ordered a orange camera and received a blue one. I was told it was my responsibility to pay to return it, which is quite frankly rubbish. I am expected to trust a seller who frequently sends the wrong items to buyers, then refuses to replace it unless the dispute is closed and paypal's policy is as long as the seller sends you something the buyer must pay to return it!?!!
I have not purchased off ebay since and I will never use their site to buy an expensive item again.

both camera,s fAILED to work which was very disapointing the first one I could,nt charge so IIT WAS SENT back to be replaces by another one with the same problem by then I had had enogh and had my money back since then I,ve not bought anythink off you my first buy is fine a rasor which is working well I look in your site most night but as yet have not been tempted .

I look on line and in shops at an item I want to buy in this case a new camera and then I compare the prices of various ones that can be found on ebay. This particular purchase has been totally satisfactory - I like the fact that I can study all the different specs in the comfort of my own home at my leisure and compare them to other makes and models as there is a wide range available on ebay. Most ebay sellers are happy to email you with any answers to questions about the item and I have found most to be helpful and informative. The camera arrived quickly and was as described I have been very pleased with it and feel totally satisfied and secure purchasing such items through ebay.

bought one last year for my daughter for £250 when in london i t fits in your shirt pocket easy to use so i bought one off ebay for my wife only difference is the price £90 del to door she loves it i mean the camera

The camera is extremely slim, well made, easy to use and produces photographs that are lifelike.Viewing screen is large and you can easily see the image you are photographing. I have had several cameras in the past but this has to be the best.

Camera is absolutely fab, really great, easy to use, and it was a good price. The delivery was very prompt within a few days, and everything was very well secured. I can recommend this product and its performance. It was all very good. Am pleased with my purchase.

The best parts are the size of the camera, the docking station and the long battery life. Say forever good bye to annoying problems with digicamera batteries. I own two of the EX-S600. Robust little things, never let you down.

i am not very please with the product i recieved. the seller failed to mention in the product profile that the camera came with no battery, fail to mention thet is was an import, therefore you need a socker adaptator, even after managing to get it connected the charger is not fonctioning and so on.....

Bought this camera as I had bought my daughter one, two years ago and have been very impressed. It is TRULY a shirt pocket/handbag camers because of its size and design. It can be as simple or as complex as you want it to be. My wife and daughter just leave on auto and pick up and use. I like to waff about a little bit. Casio have certainly got it right where delivering a small portable camera with a large screen is concerned. Would recommend this camera to anyone. Even a camera anarack would find it useful.

A great camera at a good price.Comes with a cradle which your usb and mains charger all connect to which saves the hassle of buying rechargeable batteries or unplugging and plugging it into charge.Really simple to use (if you read the manual).Great anti jog/blur.HIGHLY reccomend this camrea for the price :o)
