Every now and then i'll buy an album based on one song. Sometimes it can lead to a disappointment when finding that the artist has peaked on just that track, but in the case of This Is Hazelville I was delighted with what I listened to. Laid back, melodic, lucid and still based in indieland. It took 3/4 plays to become comfortable with their style but the whole album has grown on me and is my top 5 of the year so far. If you, like me, heard the single Glorious, I am sure you will like the whole album. I'm not really into desribing the musical contents of an album, so that's it.

) splendid debut album, contains the single glorious. full of great songs inventive arrangements. prefab sprout influences show themselves and to the bands credit they don't suffer because of them, if you like proper pop (not tat like sugababes and girls aloud) give it a go.

I neither knew of the group, or knew any of their songs when buying this CD. It was thrust towards me by my sister but this lead to be listening to the album with no expectations, and with an open mind.
I feel captain have a very unique style to themselves i still feel that they manage to capture your attention creating a brilliant sound varying from track-to-track. This album captures the feel of captain, without being repetitive and lacking in variety.

) very good album, quite hard to find in the music shops now, but no trouble on ebay. If you like your easy going pop, then this is for you!!

This is Captain with their amazing debut album This Is Hazelville. One of my fvourite albums of the year, definately an essential record for your collection. Captain are a 5 piece alternative rock band. Members include Rik Flynn, Clare Szembek, Mario Athanasiou, Alex Yeoman and Reuben Humphries.
Singles relese include: "Broke" (April 24, 2006) - UK #34 "Glorious" (July 31, 2006) - UK #30 "Frontline" (November 13, 2006) - UK #62.
Captain recently toured with Keane on their sell out under the iron sea tour. Tom chaplin (lead vocalist, said that it was his choice for album of the year)
This is Hazelville is an excellent record with some very catchy and chill out tunes, 5 * * * * *.
