I bought a Canon Ixus 2.1 megapixel camera around 2000 and paid nearly £500 for it and was very pleased with that.As technology had advanced so much since then I researched the compact digital market and decided to stay with canon and bought the Ixus 75. What a super little camera with such easy to use features. I still haven't played with the more advanced features and probably never will, but would highly recommend this camera to anyone. Had a Canon Ixus II which is still a great little camera but with only 3.2 Mega Pixels, I needed to upgrade. I have got to say I'm glad I stuck with Canon! This is another great camera which has some really ace techy bits as part of the deal but fantastic for simple pics or videos. Light, compact with great zoom features, it's all I want from a family camera! Review ID: 10000000004171632 Was this review helpful? EVERYONES PRAISING THIS CAMERA SO I WILL LEAVE MY FEW COMPLIMENTS AND CONCENTRATE ON MY OVERALL FEELING. I DONT LIKE THIS CAMERA. EVERYTHING ABOUT IT IS SO OVERCOMPLICATED THERE ARE ABOUT 500 MODES TO CHOOSE FROM. A FUNCTION FOR KIDS AND PETS, FOR AQUARIUM FOR UNDERWATER FOR FIREWORKS. COMING ACCROSS CHRISTMAS DAY MODE WOULDNT HAVE SURPRISED. SO THERE WE GO, THE MOMENTS GONE BEFORE YOU HAVE TO TIME TO SET THE CAMERA THEN THERE IS THE ANNOYING 'NO BATTERY INDICATOR' SO YOU HAVE NO WAY OF KNOWING WHEN IT WILL RUN OUT. WHAT MAKES IT WORSE IS THAT THE WARNING LOW BATTERY MESSAGE COMES ON ABOUT 5 SECONDS BEFORE IT DIES. GREAT. OH AND THE BATTERY PACK RECHARGES FAST BUT REALLY ALL I WANT IS AA BATTERIES. THEN I CAN CARRY A LOAD ROUND WITH ME. THEN THERE IS THE VIDEO MODE. THE SETTINGS FOR WHICH ARE COMPLETELY UNPRACTICLE. TAKE THE NORMAL MODE, WELL A 5 MINUTE VIDEO USES AROUND 600MB OR SPACE. WHICH IS ABOUT THE SAME AS A AVI MOVIE OF 2 HOURS LENGTH. SO UPLOADING ONTO YOUTUBE MEANS YOU HAVE TO THEN FIND A SEPERATE PROGRAM TO LOWER THE RESOLUTION. OR THERE IS THE COMPACT MODE WHICH IS ABOUT 5 PIXELS AND IS COMPLETELY POINTLESS UNLESS YOU ARE THE POLICE AND WANT TO BLANK OUT PEOPLES FACES FOR LEGAL REASONS YOU ALSO CANT ADJUST THE FLASH LEVEL. ITS NOTHING OR ITS BLINDING FLASH MODE WHICH MAKES EVERYONE LOOK LIKE THEYVE SEEN A GHOST. SO IM GOING TO SELL IT AND BUY MY OLD ONE WHICH WAS STOLEN! A SONY W17. A FAR SUPERIOR CAMERA AND NONE OF THE GIMMICKS, JUST SIMPLICITY AND FUNCIONALITY Review ID: 10000000005289393 Was this review helpful?
