Canon PowerShot SD1000 / Digital IXUS 70 Digital Camera

Although I was looking for an Ixus compact, the Powershot is exactly the same spec branded, I suspect, for the American market.

It's a beautiful piece of equipment, very small and compact but feels really tough, unlike some other compacts I've owned that just feel like they'll break if you don't treat them very carefully.

The image quality is as good as any you'll find on any digital compact. You can never compare this with a larger sensor DSLR but the Ixus is superb. With 7.1Mp it delivers results as good as you'll ever need for those family and holiday snapshots.

I'd highly recommend this camera to anyone looking for an entry priced compact digital camera. Canon is a great brand, has been making digital cameras since they were invented, and this one is a credit to their range.
