Canon PowerShot EOS 30D Digital Camera

canon EOS cameras always feel good in the hand. Ive used the eos range since i bought my 35mm 1000FN many years ago.Ive progressed up now to a 1D mk2 model, but have had experience with the majority of the enthusiast models such as the 10D 20D and 30D. the D30 feels and looks very simalar to 10D D60 and 20D. All very similar in size with control buttons very similar.The D30 represents excellent value for money for anyone wishing to start out in digital photography without spending huge amounts on a brand new camera.Ok, the D30 is only 3.25 megapixels you say.its not all about megapixels. Basically its the overall size of the sensor which contibutes to image detail.The sensor on the D30 roughly measures 22mm x 16mm ish. thats about 9 times more surface area that you will find on a 7 MP compact. The D30 is more than capeable of producing quality images for printing upto A4.the main contibution to image quality on any DSLR camera is noise control and the quality of the lens optics.
If you use a good quality lens such as the canon 24-105mm f4 L series, you'll get pretty decent images.Ok its a bit much to splash out on a lens, but if you buy decent quality lenses in the beginning you can always use them when you upgrade the camera.another great lens is the 28-135mm IS USM. theres no pounint spending £650 on a 40D and attaching a budget lens.The D30 is still a great camera capeable of producing quality images.I still have one, my son has one.Ok its not comparable to an EOS 1 series, but for a camera that will cost about £125 in the second hand market, they are great value for money.

THE CANON D30 IS GOING FOR PEANUTS ON EBAY.THE BUILD QUALITY AND EASE OF USE ARE SECOND TO NONE.PUT A DECENT LENS ON IT AND IT WILL STILL GIVE YOU GREAT PICTURES EVEN IN 2009.I KNOW USERS WHO HAVE SOLD THEIR D30's WISHED THEY HADN'T AND BOUGHT ANOTHER EVEN THOUGH THEY HAD UPGRADED.THE LARGE CMOS SENSOR IS A GREAT PLUS ON THE D30.THE MEGAPIXEL FRENZY IS A FARCE REALLY UNLESS YOU HABITUALLY WANT TO PRODUCE POSTERS.IF YOU READ THE CONTEMPRORARY REVIEWS OF THIS CAMERA WHEN IT CAME OUT YOU CAN SEE HOW HIGHLY REGARDED IT WAS.IT HASN'T CHANGED WITH PASSAGE OF TIME.
