Canon MV750i Mini DV Camcorder

I bought this compact and ruggedly made mini-dv digital camcorder to complement my Sony VX2100 (broadcast quality)mini-dv camcorder, ie. to film alternative views and aspects of a scene in tandem. It's also a handy and convenient size to carry around in the car for that unexpected moment that may generate a little cash when you sell the footage to the media.
When the scenes from both cameras are edited together it is difficult to identify the difference in picture or sound quality. This is an obvious testament to its ability and all at a budget price (only a fraction of the cost of the Sony).
The Canon MV750i is a very convenient and compact videoing package and is generously equipped to capture scenes in almost all situations. Indeed, it has an onboard light that will adequately illuminate scenes in pitch darkness with only a respectable loss of picture quality.
It's easy to use straight out of the box - just set to automatic, switch it on and you're ready to film your most precious memories in sharp and vivid colour, the automatic focus quickly adjusting for most situations. Even my 5-year old daughter can use it after about 5 minutes tuition. For the more discerning and creative of film makers, there are many manual settings available, complete with various digital effects and the ability to insert stunning transitions between your scene shots.
The camera comes supplied with all cables necessary except the DV cable, which perhaps is my only criticism. These can be purchased on ebay for a few quid.
It's worth investing in the larger capacity battery to complemet the supplied one as it is only rated to last 65 minutes using the colour view-finder or 45 minutes using the LCD screen. Filming can even be recorded onto the SD card!
I'm still discovering from the comprehensive user manual just what this little gem is capable of - needless to say it is certainly one of the best bargains on ebay that I've been fortunate enough to purchase. Well done Canon !
