My first and best digital camera. The ratio of good to bad photos is very good indeed and some of my very best photos have been from this camera. I took it everywhere with me.
Sadly, after 45,000 or so photos the CCD unit failed. Canon replaced the camera under warranty but with a different, newer model, the IXUS 40 which is nothing like as good as the IXUS v2.
There is a lot more to good photos than mega-pixel count and the v2 is proof of that.

I felt I got myself a bargain, and Ive been really pleased how the photos have turne out that I took.I was looking for a camera that takes good close up pictures,and this one does the job perfect.

WHAT I LIKE ABOUT THIS IS IT SO EASY TO USE, I DESCIDED TO BUY THIS ITEM BECAUSE IT IS IDEAL FOR A LEARNER LIKE MYSELF AND A WELL ADVANCED PERSON LIKE MY SON, THERE IS NOTHING I DISLIKE ABOUT IT, BUT WITHOUT E-BAY I WOULD HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO AFORD IT AS ON THE HIGH STREET IT WOULD HAVE COST AROUND £4000.00 TO BUY NEW, KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK, MR GERRY ROWLATT ( SO SORRY I DID REPLY SOONER )

very good imagei like this camera bbcause i bought this same camera about 7 year ago for £400
though it is a 2 mega pixil the photo image better than 5 mega pixil
print are too good
i have taken my british passport photos with this camera and just printed it
i think its name canon is very trusted brand in camera

Even though the memory card door is broken, it's easily fixed with a bit of tape and is just as durable as a brand new one is! A fabulous model!
