Excellent Full Frame Digital Camera

Very well made Canon EOS 5D has won plenty of awards and features a full frame sensor, which means 35mm lenses don't have 'crop factors'. This means a 28mm lens really is a 28mm lens.
The sensor is also big enough to create very sharp pictures and to handle low lighting well. Because its full frame, the lenses exhibit full depth of field (deliberate blurriness of backgrounds) in the same way as a traditional 35mm SLR. Photographers will appreciate this and as an example the only recently introduced full frame Nikon D700 is around £1800.
I've got a Canon EF series zoom 24-105 L IS which is sharp and very flexible, but also a selection of small manual Olympus Zuiko OM lenses, which are inexpensive small primes, which can be attached via an adapter and also produce excellent images on this camera.
The Zuiko lenses are available from eBay and a great way to add good quality prime lenses to this camera. Because of the Full Frame 35mm, they also 'behave' as they are supposed to. Example a 50mm f1.8 Zuiko may only cost £20.
The 5D is about to be upgraded to the Mark II; there should be some 5D Mark I bargains about - I've noticed that even Canon have some in their 'refurbished' category on Ebay.
Well worth it if you are a more advanced photographer and whilst more expensive than a DX sensor sized camera, its a great way to get into the 'big league' with the Zuikos as a good way to get a lens collection started.
