Excellent Price versus function balance. Most of the features of the 30d but with the price, size and weight of the 350d. Being a consumer level SLR means that the cheaper accessories are still avail e.g. RC1 or 5 remote controller can be used.
I would only rate the Nikon D80 higher although I went with the 400d because the Canon lenses offer far superior value for money.
