Aquired for my Daughter as an introduction to DSLR photography
Pro build and features (albeit now slightly dated), It is the semi pro model counterpart of the 300D which despite its plastic body and inferior feature set always seems to make more money at auction than the 10D!
6Mp is more than sufficient for decent poster sized images if used with care, If you feel a need for more megapixels then the 20D, 30D and 40D are also available increasing in price as you go. I paid £130 for a good 10D in very good condition and added Canons cheapest but arguably one of their sharpest lenses in the 50mm F1.8
This gave my daughter a combination that has produced razor sharp perfectly exposed images that massively exceeded her previous attempts with a compact camera despite the lack of zoom
10D, 20D 30D 40D these are the semi pro magnesium alloy bodied versions of the mainstream 300D/350D/400D - buy the best you can afford but the 10D is an exceptionally high quality but budget entry point to DSLR photography.
