Canon EF 400mm f/5.6L USM Lens

I purchased this lens to replace the 100-300 canon zoom lens, as I wanted more reach and better quality, I was not disapointed! i dont miss the zoom, as I always used it at 300mm anyway, (I do a lot of wildlife photography) the picture quality is much better, pin sharp with lovely out of focus backgrounds, very fast and accurate autofocus, the lens is quite small, and light enough to hand hold, unlike the larger apperture models. overall I rate this lens as exellent value for money, and if your thinking of buying the 100-400 canon zoom, think very carefully about the fixed 400, do you really need the zoom feature? the fixed 400mm is smaller, lighter, has better autofocus and slightly better image quality.
