Canon 100mm f/2.8 Macro USM EF Lens

There are several Canon macro lenses, and I have three of them. They are all magnificent in their way. The Canon 100mm f2.8 is still probably my favourite. It gives reliable and excellent results every time, whether used on a tripod or hand-held. Use it with either the MR14-EX or the MT24-EX and you will always get a result. Cost-wise, it's cheaper than the 180mm (which is a truly fantastic lens) and it's a tad better than a 90mm Tamron which I thought was also excellent, particularly in its autofocus speed (though I usually prefer manual focus for macro shooting.) The f2.8 is excellent - lets in lots of light when you need it. Can also be used as a pretty good portrait lens. All in all, very good value for money.
